Detailed my Cobra last week. 1st detail, although the car was in good shape to start with. Here's some pics. If this doesn't work, just click on the link.

Thanks.

Well....they won't be keeping up with this one. Running full exhaust, ported intake, and most importantly a Vortech blower:xyxthumbs Putting down 514RWHP and the power goes through a Viper T56 transmission and a fully biult solid axle. 11's with the proper tires at the track:D....10's if I knew how to drive (maybe).

So what did you use?

That's a requirement for posting in this section...;)

With that kind of rwhp that car should be deep into the 10's. 450 rwhp cars @ 3400 lbs. are capable of 10.7's.

HOLY SMOKES:shocked . My friends 02 cobra had a procharger on it, soooo fast, i think he had 478 rwp, how do you keep the power on the ground, he would just get axel hop like mad...

Sorry guys...I had the process in the other post I referenced.

Clay bar

Menzerna IP-yellow pad

Menzerna FP-white pad

AIO-white pad

SG- by hand x2

P21S Carnauba-by hand

There's a couple small spots I may hit with a more aggresive pad (wool) next time I go to do a major detail. This was my first time so I didn't want to go too aggresive.

Regarding power....solid axle and some BFG DR's...they spin sometimes in first gear, but only on the cooler days. If it's warm out, they stick hard. I expect to get 3K-5K miles out of them...which means I'll be replacing once a year. The solid axle plants the car and there is no wheel hop any more.:bounce

Back to detailing...I was using Zaino before, but this process gives it a deeper shine, a "wetter" look, and makes the car look a deeper black. I'm very happy.

A friend of mine has those tires on his '02 turbo WS6 TA (approx. 550 rwhp) and they only lasted about 1000 miles of street driving.

1,000 miles:(

It doesn't matter at this point...I think the tires are the cheapest mod on the car now:cool: I may take a few more pics today at different angles and in the sun.

The second photo shows the hood....but doesn't give it credit. I get lots of compliments on the Cobra R hood.

Also, a better shot of the hood....this is last summer with XXX coats of Zaino on it.

Toss some ET streets on their!! THat will cure your slipping! Hehe. Car looks great! I love the Cobra R wheels. How much boost are you running on the blower?

As for the track, yup, this spring will be the first time with the new transmission and solid axle set up. Also, 4.30 gears. I will be borrowing my friends 27x10.5x15 Hoosiers. I'll let you know what happens!

Last summer my first run with the new power, running on STREET tires was a 12.8 at 120mph.:nixweiss I was spinning threw third.

Running 13 lbs of boost, 14 degrees of timing, rich a/f, and using 94 octane gas.

Was running on stock BFG 245/45/17's. 60ft's were a 2.2-2.4. Was having to let off the gas from bad wheel hop. Gotta love the IRS.

:bounce

I can't wait to try the new solid.
