DETAILED - full custom/race ready Silvy SS

Adam's Polishes

New member
I've gotten my hands on this truck before, just needed a fresh buff and clean up prior to taking some pics (sorry, no befores this time) The truck is sporting a built/cam'd 6.1L engine, vortec t-trim intercooled blower, 150 shot of nitrous, headers, baer brakes, custom exhaust, electronic cut outs, the list goes on and on. This is one of the fastest full size truck on the road and should be somewhere in the 10's next time it makes it to the track :soscared:

Conditions were almost ideal for photographing this truck, semi-overcast, around 5pm so the sun was filtering really nicely. These pics didn't take much tweaking other than cropping and a little adjustment to the levels.

We had originally picked out a prime location for the pics, but a ******** security gaurd wouldn't let us take pics :hairpull

PROCESS:

Wheels/tires/fenders cleaned with SG dilluted mixture and assorted brushes

Dressed tires with Adams VRT

Rims just were wiped down (already coated with REJEX)

Inner fenders dressed w/ Adams Invisible Undercarriage Spray

Washed with Optimum Car Wash concentrate via foam gun (blue metering tip)

Dried with MF WW drying towel + QD spray

Clayed (areas that needed it) with Adams Purple Clay + QD spray

1 pass with DER Tuff stuff on a white pad

1 pass in problem areas with Adams S&HR + Revive mixture on green pad

1 pass Adams Fine machine Polish on a white pad

Topped off with DER Shiney Stuff applied by hand w/ MF "camel toe" applicator (more about my new favorite applicators later)

Buffed off with Adams Premium MF polishing cloth

Very nice, Dylan. I like the fire graphics on the side there, looks very realistic. Could be fire for hauling *** or for grilling up some burgers at a tailgating party, woo!

Wow very clean truck, it gives my L an run for its money on the babying department. It's definitely a fast truck, but put a built long block, KB 2.3, and 150 shot of nitrous into an L and you are in the 9s my friend. =)

Yea, but you're also dealing with a standard cab truck with a lot less weight... the SSS is a pig with the extra cab, weight of the AWD drivetrain, etc.

I love SS's, but even I'll admit the L and the SS have never been a fair race... the L is just too damn fast right off the dealer floor... it sux Ford decided to kill them off.

do you have a engine pic?

truck looks great nice job!

At the request of the owner we didn't do any engine pics... its still got some dress up parts (carbon fiber) coming and some clean up to do on the NOS lines and electrical wires... once thats all done we'll be doing pictures of every square inch of it.

Great job Dylan!

Wish I didn't have to sell my truck. I miss it. Oh well.

Damn, sorry to hear the bad news:sadwavey:

Dylan, I would have to say that is some of your best work. The paint looks extremely rich and deep. Good job. That truck is just plain sick.

Hes a regular at the street legal drags in Fontana (CA Speedway)

Very sweet truck. I'm a Ford guy at heart, but I have always like the SS. Nitrous is somewhat of a turn-off, but it's still sweet w/o out.

Oh yeah -- great job on the detailing as well:)
