Detailed: Esoteric's work space!

Todd,

Awesome job on the garage. I just moved into a new home with a 3 car garage and this is where I am at right now. The prior owner had the garage all dry walled and added 7 additional outlets down the sides of the garage and across the front. He also added a nice countertop (about 12ft long) with some nice white cabinet across the top and down the side.

This is what I have added:

Lighting:

10 sets of T8 lights across the ceiling with 6500K bulbs. Each set is 4 bulbs (40 total). I plan to add two more sets on the side walls.

Added 3 new electrical outlets in each bay above the cars.

Floor:

Added 3 ribbed vinyl floor mats (7.5 x 17) in each bay in a nice grey color.

I am still undecided on what to do with the concrete floor.

I am just waiting for the weather to warm so that I can paint the walls.

I also added some addtional white cabinets from Home Depot to add to the ones that I had.

Your pics are inspirational. Incredible work.

Wow...it sounds like you've got quite the setup! I'd love to see photos sometime.

I certainly appreciate the kind comments. I wanted to make sure I had plenty of places to plug in my halogens and polishers. When the house was built, they only installed 1 1/2 outlets!

THAT is a transformation! Truely impressive! :goodjob

You mentioned work on the floor... can't wait to see what you're going to do there!

You wanted new reflection shots...

It was almost 50 out today, so I did a quick wash and snapped a few photos to check out the reflections of the new work:

Same shot, but with the lights on, and a different exposure:

Just make sure you get a Air Conditioner in there for the summer time. My old man has a insulated garage and I have a insulated shop too. It gets hot in there in the summer when the sun starts beating down. Plus it'll help for those finicky polishes that don't like the Ohio humidity in the summer...

But isn't it nice to have a nice heated garage you can go "play" in? Add a drain and some water and you can really go to town (plus avoid getting into trouble when the drought laws go into effect)

Nice work Sir.

What do you have planned for the epoxy?

I'm a painting contractor and help with the formulations for one of the larger coating manufacturers.

Depending on what you want to go with, I can send you some free product and help you with the design/process.

If your interested in some idea's, shoot me a PM.

That is a VERY nice garage! Great work, Todd!!!! You should be damn proud of that!

Thanks Casey! I'm glad I took the time to do it right so I only have to do it once. It will make a big difference when working on cars...a nice looking, clean and organized work space! It will definitely help with efficiencies for sure.

I've been doing a bit of research on the subject. Like detailing, there seems to be a big emphasis on the prep work. Having said that however, it looks like most consumer grade products only last 24 to 36 months, and then you jump up to the really high dollar stuff if you want good durability. I'll send you a PM.

No problem, buddy! You definitely did it right. The next time I'm in or around The Bus, I'll look you up.
