Yesterday I detailed my buddies Black F-250. At first it looked like there was no hope for the truck because generally you run into problems with black vehicles such as wind swirls and fine scratches, but there is one good thing, you can not see rail dust. I started out claying the truck just to flatten out his paint a bit. I started with a cutting pad and used Meguiars #80 to try to get rid of some of the fine scratches (it was the most abrasive thing I had other then 3M Finess, which I used on a leveling pad on some bad areas). I used some VM on a polishing pad which took care of remaining swirls. To top the truck off I used 2 coats of NXT. All in all the truck looks great for what it was, but I do have to admit there are still some swirls. I give some credit to my brother too because he helped me out on a couple of panels during polish.
