You may remember this vehicle from last month. I just did a quick wash and gave it a coating of Final Gloss. Well, I got the call last night to go ahead and clean the paint and protect it. Since I will be washing it every week, this will be a great test subject of Opti-Seal durability.
Here's the process:
Wheels, Tires, & Wells.....
(ZEP CD and DP Gel Wheel Cleaner)
Sprayed, let soak, and blasted the tires and wells. I took my time with the wheels using various brushes and the wheel gel. I coated the wells with Stree Appeal Tire Shine (1.00 for 32oz.'s) and the tires got Pinnacle's Black Onyx Tire Gel. I then protected the wheels with Opti-Seal.
Engine Bay.....
(ZEP CD & Armor All Tire Foam)
I degreased then rinsed clean. Then sprayed with the tire foam. I closed the hood, started the engine and let bake for 15-20 minutes. Finally, I wiped down any standing puddled water.
Paint Correction......
(XMT#1 with Cyclo & EDGE2K Green Pads)
I didn't use 360 this time since I wanted just a clean slate for testing Opti-Seal with. There were no swirls at all in the paint. I went pretty fast. I just wanted to clean the paint and windows. There was no dusting and removal was a breeze.
Paint Protection.......
(Optimum's Opti-Seal & Wolfgang Applicator Foam Pad)
Once the paint was cleaned, it was time to protect. I sprayed to spritzes onto the pad and then one in the middle of the hood. OS went on smooth and clear. I was able to do the windshield and fenders without another spray. Then did the bumper and worked my way around. I did all the paint and then came back around again for the windows. This was a large vehicle and I ended up using 12 total spritzes.......this included the roof and wheels. I figured that it would take about a 1/4 of a bottle of any other liquid wax or sealant. There were no streaking issues and it totally vanished......even from the glass. The look was nothing short of stunning! Simply deep and wet. Could I get the same look from another product. Yep...........but not this easy!
Interior.....
(DG 401 Leather Shampoo & DP's Total Interior Protecant)
I cleaned every surface with the Leather Shampoo. Very good at cleaning plastic and rubber as well as the leather. Highly recommended. I used the protectant on every surface other than glass and clear plastic. They got Diamondite's Perfect Vision Aerosol Glass Cleaner. A very nice glass cleaner that left no streaks or hazing.........even in the sun.
Befores.......
DP's Final Gloss still beading strong after 4 weeks and no washings.
