Detail Shop in Colorado Springs, CO?

Hey all - I've been lurking for a while, but I finally have a question I can't seem to get answered just by searching and reading.

Can anyone reccommend a good pro detailer in Colorado Springs, CO? I've checked out a couple places but am having a hard time choosing. I'm asking the detailer to do an exterior job on my Tacoma and buff out the 5.6 million scratches I have from...GASP....offroading. I know, I'm weird. I love to baby my truck and make it look good (it is black after all), but I also love tearing through the mountains which always gives me loads of Rocky Mountain Pinstriping...hehe. Check out my pic at the bottom to see :). I would buy a PC and fix it all myself (or try to at least in a newbie-like fashion), but I don't have the time right now to go beyond just the waxing side of things. :(

Anyhow, any suggestions? Thanks for the help in advance btw, this is an awesome forum.

You may go to some of you local detailers and ask to see references of some of the work they have done. I am the same way as you, I love to keep my truck looking good but I also love going offroad with it.

wow, that looks like it would be a fun project. I live in Colorado (Golden no the springs). It's a little drive for me but I detail all over the state. I'm going down to Larkspur to do a truck today.

I haven't heard any really good comments about any of the detailers in Colorado... (well... i take that back... i know one REALLY good guy but he usually does really high end cars and charges a ton). I'm sure there are somewhere, but I have yet to find one. I don't really do it professionally more just as a hobby.

If you want to meet up and detail your truck I could probably do it for ya.

Yeah I've checked out a few of them, but they didn't have any good finished products at the moment for me to check out. Both shops use Meguiar's stuff, so no difference there. One place is a guy and his wife (he brags she is the best at black vehicles in town), and the other is a slightly bigger place that seems to move a little more business, but the guy was a little too much of a salseman ("I'll make it gleeeeeeeeeeam dude!" etc.). So I dunno, I'm going to keep looking around a bit.

Hmm, I may take you up on the offer. First I'm going to ask around a bit more down here (I have a lead or two), then I'll see if I will make you drive really far, haha. I'll let you know what I decide.

Oh also, the places I've stopped at have quoted me about $70-75 to do the exterior? Is that a decent rate?

I'd say that's decent... Maybe a little low compared to some other states... but I think it's fair. Well... depending on what you get... it's a little much for the 'swirl special' or 'quick wax' but for a good solid real exterior detail I think it sounds good.

Hey, sorry to bother you all in the Pro area, but I didn't get much info from the university side.

I'm looking for a good detail shop in Colorado Springs, CO. I want to have an exterior job done on my Black '99 Toyota Tacoma - buffing/polishing to remove a ton of scratches i've accumulated offroading (Rocky Mountain Pinstriping hehe). I'd do it myself but I haven't ponied up for a Porter cable yet. Mainly my worry is scratch removal with no addition of swirls/spiderwebs or anything if possible. I will be doing the protection part of the job myself with Klasse AIO/SG, and S100.

Thanks in advance!

FWIW, you'll spend more for someone else to do the detail than you would if you just bought a PC. If you're willing to do the work yourself, I'd just spend the money on the PC.

Yeah I know, I'm going to get the PC pretty soon (in a month or two). But for only $70 its worth it to have someone else do an initial clean up on the truck, its that bad, lol. That way once I get the PC it will be decent already for me to get working on. But the main issue is I don't have the time at the moment to do it and I want to get it done.

okay this thread got weird - I guess a moderator merged the two threads i made. oh well - anyhow let's work something out...I'll PM you right now.
