I just purchased the Sonus Hand polishing kit here. Sfx-1 and Sfx-2 plus hand applicator.

This weekend I will be doing a spring detail of my car. Here are my steps and products:

1. Wash with Meg's Gold Class Shampoo.

2. Clay with clay magic or megs quick clay(buy at autozone, need recommendations here)

3. Wash again with Meg's Gold Class Shampoo

4. Use Sonus SFX-1 with hand applicator

?. Use Sonus SFX-3 with hand applicator

?. Use Autoglym Super Resin Polish

7. Finish with a coat of megs nxt tech wax.

^^^^ Should I use those products in that order or switch up the autoglym SRP and sfx-3??

I thought I remember reading that super resin polish is like klasse AIO. When I hand polish I need to use straight motions not circular, and same with waxing, correct??

The detail will be done to my car, a 2002 Lexus IS 300 Absolutely Red.

thanks for all the help!!!

Skip step #3, you will polish out any lube left by the clay. I'm not familiar with the Autoglym product, but I believe SFX-3 should finish down nicely so you shouldn't need anything to follow it other than protections. I don't think straight vs circular motions are really important, as long as what you are using is clean.

Anyone else care to comment any thoughts suggestions, please. I would like to know more about the autoglym super resin and if could use it before or after my sfx-3, for maximum results!:sadwavey:

Alright I searched on here and the Autoglym product, despite its label which makes it appear like Nu Finish, appears to be a glaze that is very high in fillers. Therefore, your procedure would be to polish out swirls and defects to the best of your ability (with the SFX line), and if needed add some filler/wetness with the autoglym, and then protect with a wax or sealant.

You didn't mention the condition of your paint though, so I'm not sure how effective the SFX line will be by hand at removing swirls. Doing this by hand is extremely time consuming. If I didn't have a PC, I would just use some type of paint cleaner (something like SFX-2, ColorX, Mothers Power Polish, etc.) followed by a glaze with fillers and then a wax. Also, I'm not too informed on NXT but it is a sealant and not a wax, so it "may" have bonding issues with a glaze underneath it.

NXT is technically a sealant, but claims it is both a sealant and wax. I've never had issues with bonding with glaze underneath -- Just allow the glaze to dry before applying NXT.

Someone familiar with the 'technical' properties of NXT 2.0 might be able to answer that question better about the whole is it a sealant or a wax, or really , truly, both.

It is definitely more a sealant with filler properties imo. I know after a proper polish it will only seal the car and add hydrophobic action and not really add any amazing additional luster or shine . Which is why I am using DWG with NXT 2.0 now, to get some additional benefits since a recent polish.

I have Googled Autoglym super resin polish vs klasse All-in-one and found that they were very similar products. One being English and the other German. Here is the link to the site Autoglym Super Resin Polish

So if this is the case I should use it after the SFX-3 polish correct? I will eventually invest in a porter cable this year but right now I am pulling my hair on how dirty the car is.

I am the second owner of my car (had it for 7 months now). The first owner was a girl who babied the car and mainly garaged it but we all know girls aren't the best at washing cars. There are swirls but nothing major, it is a 2002 so the paint is 6 years old. I saw the Sonus hand polish bundle and thought it would be my best choice at polishing down the swirls by hand. When I polish with my hand and sonus foam applicator which direction do I need to go in???? With my SFX-1 and SFX-3????? I can't seem to find any information on the most beneficial method.

Thanks for helping a detailing nooB!
