Hello Everyone. A good friend of mine has a 2009 Black Jaguar that is in need of some serious TLC. Looking to see if this can be polished up to look better. I did a test spot with just some 101 on a towel and seemed to improve allot. The black has on the roof and areas turned really grey. if your in the Naples area and think you could help please let me know.

I am in Naples and would be willing to take a look at it. It looks like the clear failed and may not be `fixable`, however you never know! Have them contact me.

I was going to say the same thing as Sizzle, looks like CC failure. But it can’t hurt to have it looked at. That Florida sun is a killer. I see it all the time here in S. GA. Dark colors seem to get hit the hardest or lighter colors just don’t show it as bad. CC failure usually looks worse around the edges and yours looks cloudy all over so hopefully I’m wrong.

I have seen Jet Black Paint that turned a dull, gray color after years of never being touched.. The only thing that took it all off was Lake Country Purple Foam Wool and Meguiars 105, followed by M205 with White Foam and it was back to a rolling black mirror..(All Rotary Power)
Hopefully, that is all that is wrong with this top here..

If not, it could be the beginning stages of clear coat failure..

Scott will be the best guy to look at it - Post # 2 above..

Good luck with this..

Looks like single stage paint that`s severely oxidized. Should be fixable if not too thin.

??? Seems highly unlikely to me that`s single stage given the telematics antenna on the roof (indicating the vintage of the car is within the last 15 years or so).

Yeah, unless it was treated to a cheapie repaint it`s b/c.

You never know until you try; the paint on my Tahoe was at least that bad when I got it and it cleaned up just fine (and stayed that way).

It`s in good hands with Sizzle Chest, I`m looking forward to hearing how it goes.
