Deminished Value Claim?

I work for the third largest Acura dealer in the nation. You bring us a tradein, we are getting a carfax. It's common sense. Which is worth more, the mint baseball card or the one pressed flat with an iron? People buying used cars from us often ask for carfaxes. As far as the black book, there are four categories, ranging from xtr-cln to rgh. And yes, diminished value does exist. Unless you work for an insurance company. Bring a vehicle to carmax and they will put it on the lift and point out body straightening clamp marks on the frame. Think you will get a high tradein value?

That is probably why I will lease my next vehicle.

pocon, thank you. I swear all these insurance agents hate are living in a la-la land. Do they even buy cars themselves ever? or trade cars in? I swear they have no clue what's actually happening in the real world with trade-ins and carfax reports.

What's the status on your Deminished Value Claim? It's been almost a month since the loss, what is the other insurance company doing for you?

Waiting for my car repair to be done and getting the final worked out bill between the insurance agent and body shop. I'll take that bill then and talk to the diminished value expert and we'll go from there about filing a claim.

If you don't mind me asking why are you taking your vehicle to the deminished value person after the repair is completed? Did they do an inspection prior to repair?
