Deemo: Con Job?

Scorpion

New member
I'm sorry but I just re-read the page at http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-pc7424.html and I think we are being conned by this member. If you look closely at the door handles you can see they are different. The after picture looks like the truck is chromed and he is trying to pass it off as the truck in the original(before) photo. I think there are 2 different trucks, one has dark paint and the other is chromed.

Nice try though. ;)

DAYUM! I can't believe I didn't catch that either.

I don't know if the second one is chromed, it might be, but it looks like it could be shiny black too.

No keyhole either... haha

Guys, I hate to burst your bubbles, but this "conspiracy" has been brought up before, that truck is a crew cab, and one pic is of the front door, the other of the rear. It's quite common for highly polished black to look "chromed" in internet pics...look at some click & brag threads with closeups of black vehicles.

Oh my God! :wall

Thank you.

I can't believe this has been going on while I have been off the board.

I suggested to David that he use the third pic in my post of the entire cab (yes....Crew Cab) rather than the second shot which is indeed the passenger door to the cab and the first is the driver door.

I expect to see this reported on The Smoking Gun soon. Ghesh!!!! :hairpull

See, it all was just an honest mistake. I'm sure David didn't look close enough to notice that the pics were of different doors. This was also discussed in this thread back in Sept.

I can confirm the results. I saw the SCrew after deemo bought it. In all honesty I thought he would have to repaint it. He was confident that he could repair the damage using a pc and the proper techinque. I think he saved $10k on the price of the truck.

Con job or conspiracy theory, I guess this shows you need to visit the boards more than once every 3 months, deemo!

Cheers.
