Dedicated MF for glass cleaning?

A few weeks ago I got a little streaking when cleaning some windows with Invisible Glass and some MF towels. Although the MF towels I was using were right out of the clothes dryer, I speculated that the streaking might be due to some residue left from me using them as buffing towels or to apply rubber protectant before they were washed.

Do you dedicate MF towels for a single purpose, and never use them for another purpose, or do you just use the first one you find regardless of what you're doing? I'm thinking I should use blues for buffing and QD wipedown, mango for interior cleaning and applying protectant, and green for glass.

I do have dedicated glass towels. I have found that thin napped towels work best for glass cleaning. Surprisingly the 12 pack of blue MF towels from Sams Club work great as glass-only towels.

I'm not sure if the streaking you are seeing is coming from old residue in the towel or not ... but it wouldn't hurt to have dedicated glass MF towels.

For most things, it's whatever MF I grab, but not for windows.
I do feel keeping the glass towels for just that use does reduce the streaking.

I have glass only towels that I keep seperate when clean, dirty, and especially when I wash them. I very rarely see any streaking since I've been using them.

I've tried tons of glass cleaners on the market,
there's something I've come to realize. It has nothing
to do with the cleaner, it's the towel.

My Method:

I use a terry cloth towel, soak it with water,
and scrunch the water out, and proceed to wipe the
window and get it wet with a damp towel.

Then i use a "MF Glass cleaning towel"

The result is flawless and 100 streak free.
I have been using this method for a long time.
I never get complaints and I save tons of cash.

Try it sometime, I bet you'll
never buy glass cleaner again.

IG with Poorboy's Glass cleaning towel work great!

Those Sam's Club towels work fairly well, too.

This might be worth a try.
I'm pretty sure that one of the sales points for the first MF towels was the claim that they would clean with nothing but water.
I always considered that statement to be more hype so I never tried it. Maybe it's time I did. :)

I use dedicated glass towels. I also wash them along with my washing and drying towels in a separate load away from my wax towels to prevent cross-contamination.
