Deciding on which products for a NOOB?

I just got my 7336. I really really want to start using it. I have about $200 to $250 to spend on pads and products.



Im looking to get a propel pad kit but it seems there blue pads are out of stock. Im also looking at some poorboys polish, I have alway wanted to try klasse AIO. would walmart MF do a decent for now?



I need suggestions on what to purchase thats within my budget. thanks
 
the poorboy's ssr series of polishes work great on the PC. They do dust somewhat, but if you can deal with that, go for it!



AIO is a paint cleaner. Most of the time your going to use it after you polish to remove excess polishing oils left over after buffing the polish off and to leave a good base for your lsp's.



I would also recommend that you pick up a good sealant and a good wax. my current favorites are four star's ultimate paint protection sealant and natty's blue carnauba wax.



i would shoot patrick over at excel a pm (his s/n is aka patrick or something like that) and see if he has any in stock. it takes him a day or two to update the site. at the very least he can tell you when he'll get more instock.



while your there you can also pick up some decent towels. even after buying hte polishes, sealant, wax, pads, etc your still going to have some money leftover out of your budget. go and splurge a bit on the towels, you really cant have enough.

You already have all the advice you need, but I'll repeat their recommendation to get some *good* MFs from Patrick. Don't skimp on the towels, it really is a case of penny-wise-pond-foolish; low grade towels will undo all your hard work by marring the finish.
 
Here's another vote for Patrick and exceldetail.com. He is very quick to respond to any questions you might have. I'm still loving my Propel pads, but now I want the stage 2 ones!

^^^im trying to save for a 3sgte swap. changes for this year will be taking the kit off, swap, cleaner less attracting body, new paint(same color, just better job)
 
$200 is plenty to spend on products, so I wouldn't skimp and go for walmart MFs.

Pro Polish and AIO are both excellent products but I usually prefer to use AIO as it leaves an ideal base for just about any LSP.

As for other products, there are so many great choices out there. Have a look around and see what you think would look good on your car.

Yeah, the hardest part of learning this site is all the maddening abbreviations. I remember when I first came on here and I thought, "These people are nuts." Now when I apply my LSP, usually NXT or SG, I wonder should I do this via PC or manually. Yes, I am insane.

LSP = Last Stage Product



usually a carnauba wax or a sealant as the final step.

i just won 7 out of 6 supreme yellow towels from excel. that saves me a couple bucks, but im still going to buy more.
