decals?

so i was approaced by a few members of my local car forum/ town group. about 10 people were willing to get details if they rocked a decal of my business name, while i gave them a 30% discount. i figured i would def be able to do that if the group of them all got details thats plenty of money the 30% off seemed fair. not to mention the cars were really nice looking. so are any of you guys doing similar sponsorship type stuff? i mean they participate in shows so it would be good advertisement for me.

what do you think i could design for a sticker my company's name is paint perfection.

thanks

does your company have an actual logo??? That would be the logical place to start... How big of a decal are we talking? If big enough make sure a legible contact number is displayed. if not make sure everyone knows you're logo so they know without a doubt at all who it stands for...

not yet here, but its in the works. i market my name more then my business name. but then most of my work is all word of mouth. my dealer work is really picking up alot, but my retail end is where im planning to make a boom by the end of the year so im in the middle of working someadvertising.

That sounds like a good idea, but I agree with Jakerooni I would make them large enough so they can be easly read.

Do you have business cards?? I would give each customer that is rocking the decal 20 or so business cards to hand out

Whenever I detail a customer's car they get the media kit free. No discounts for getting it, but no one has ever disliked it. It consists of: A keychain (leather/metal engraved), a magnet, a business card, a promo-postcard, and a static sticker (placed strategically at the same spot on every vehicle I do). If someone signs a service contract or orders my "Couture Package" or "Black Medallion" package they also get a custom set of cufflinks I had created (in a chrome box). All of the items were a bit pricey out of pocket, but per piece are pretty cheap. My clients love it and they love showing it off to their friends. I've tried very hard to create a "brand" and it is starting to pay off.

They key....no discounts.

I can't imagine the sheer cost of doing this.... Hopefully you had very deep pockets to start this all off or you charge very nicely... Cool idea... But man the start up cost for you free give away alone is probably more than I needed to start the entire business LOL.

Well, this isn't my first year in business. I've been doing this for 12 years. When I first started doing business, I simply gave away services too. I'm just saying, if you hand out decals, give them a reason for them to WANT to sport the decal, not for the discount.

BTW- I don't have deep pockets, but our image and our service performace is equally important. It does cost us a little bit of money, but I've been able to get great deals on my "goodies" and they pay their dividends in referrals and client experience IMO (they work for us).
