I just took of a decal form the dealer so fig its 7 years old. Used a razorblade and of course there is glue residue. what will safely remove this?

3M makes a wax & adhesive remover that is available at Wal*Mart.
I have also heard that WD40 works, but I haven't used it for that purpose.

I used WD40 to remove the remaining adhesive after removing my pinstriping.
I used a terry towel for a little extra bite. It worked quite well and I had it in the garage :D

Good luck

Goo Gone will also take it off. I've used a hair dryer to heat the area up but its not really needed just makes it easier to get off.

Yep. WD-40 will get the glue and the rest of the stuff off. Just tried it this weekend and it worked just as good as any other thing would.

WD40 user here. It works...

Be sure to go back over the areas that you're utilizing the WD40 upon with a good coat of wax to renew the surface protection in this area. The solvents present in the WD40 will, undoubtedly, remove all surface protection products.
