Debadging a leased car - have you done it?

I am contemplating doing this on a leased car, but ws wondering what the ramifications would be. Has anyone done this? We will probably end up buying or trading it in anyway, but you never know - we could end up just turning it in.

Well even if you end up turning it in all you have to do is buy some foam double sided tape and you can put them back on. I would take pictures of all the badges and their location on the car so its not noticable when you put them on. It does sound like an aweful lot of work for a lease though.

I'd either decide to buy it in the future and do whatever mods you want....or just leave it alone and know that you'll be turning it in.

On the lease cars that I have had the bank sent a company to pick them up who did a brief walkaround to ensure no major damage and then took it straight to auction. I can't guarantee anything but I would not have any fears with debadging my leased vehicle.

This is all assuming the badges are merely glued on, the ones on my MPV's hatch were pinned and required welding/repainting.

Most people prefer all that gingerbread  so they'll want them back on if/when you turn it in. And I'd put the badges back on at the end of the lease anyhow, lest they suspect you left them off after accident repairs. The debadged look of my MPV is cool, but it'll cost me if I trade it in because it screams "repaired wreck". Yeah, you could explain it away, but by then they'd be looking for stuff to complain about, you'd have opened the door for a really close inspection.

I doubt they will notice the lack of a badge or two at turn-in time. I say go for it, but hang onto the badges just in case.
