DEALERSHIP NEGLECT!! 05' Merc SL500 56k, go try to remove water spots

Last year I went with my brother to help him get a car. The salesman was typical.........cheesy. When we got to the credit application (I was co-signing), he got to the section where it asks "occupation". I responded with Automotive Finance Manager.......9 years. He literally dropped his pen.

Needless to say, negotiations didn't take long after that!

Oh yeah......

Awesome work on the car. Lot's done with just a PC. Menzerna has really surprised me and others. It seems to be the product of choice here now.

Very nice work......you brought her back to life.....that's what a mercedes should look like.

Now remove that sticker from the back... that dealer obviously doesn't deserve to advertise, lol
......+1,000,000

Dealerships sure have some good 'detailers', don't they?

There are some exceptions. i manage a detail shop at a dealership and i would never try to pass something like that off and if i did i would be fired for sure. But yes most dealership detailers are a joke. it sucks because iwork very hard to put out the best work i can, but i still fall into these generalized statements. look for 99 silverado in click and brag if you want to see some of my work.

Very nice turnaround.

I can't believe how the dealer lies. I mean, I can, but i just can't see how any person can be so dishonest as dealership people are.

I remember being on an upscale car lot in Salt Lake City once, looking at cars for my girlfriend.. I could see horrific swirls on all the vehicles (even in the showroom).. I asked the salesman who they had detailing, he told me it was "The best detailer in the state, worked for us 7 years now".. I asked him how many cars he does each day, to which he told me "15-20 full details per day, all by himself, look great dont they?"..

Just some food for thought on these dealership detailers.. Some of them may be very good at what they do, but they are normally limited to jack s**t on time and pay...

I guess as long as the vehicles sell, things wont change... thats why we make the big bucks correcting all this crap..

So somebody does understand. Let me give you a little insight as to how it is at the dealership where i manage. None of the salesmen have a clue as to how to detail a car or how long it takes to do so. so they put just impossible deadlines on the guys cleaning them and 9 times out 0f 10 the owner doesnt really care about the detailers. They're low paid and he can get anyone off the street to do his details right?

So i apologize if I take offense to some of these posts. I have bust my arse and when time permits i put out work like the 99 silverado in click and brag. But I cant spend that kind of time on all of em especially when i dont even get the car to work on until an hour before the guy is signing papers.

So in conclusion there are some hacks that detail, ive worked with them. But there are also very good detailers who dont get the time and supplies they need. Ive worked with them also and could probably include myself. Sorry for the hijack.

Absolutely gorgeous. Great work.

Question: How do you pro's get the carpet to look like that? With the professional two tone look. I really like that.

You can get "the look" by either brushing the nap of the carpet in different directions when it's clean or using the nozzle on the wet.dry vac or extractor to put in the "pattern"

I once put in a "Star of David" in the rear carpet of an SUV owned by a Cantor at a local synagogue by using a stiff brush.. he loved it!

how long did that take you and how much did you charge her?

well it was valentines and i had a date planned so i started about 7:30 am, worked about 9 hours, including lunch. i originally charged $200, but she "wasn't going to get her hopes up". well she was more than surprised and gave me a $50 tip. $250, not a bad days work.
