i just picked up a used 1999 acura, during the test drive the windshield was fine just dirty. I picked it up and it had the standard swirls on the paint including buffer holograms as deep enough to fit my fingernail in across my whole windshield it isnt anoying its a safety hazard. Im calling the dealership in the morning but i was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what i should say / do. You can fix swirls on paint but im pretty sure this glass is unrepairable.

Most of the time, that kind of thing is unrepairable. If they are very very slight, then they may be polished out, as Brian suggested. But I think you consider it a safety hazard, then I would guess they are pretty bad. I would get the dealer to replace the windshield.
alright i called the acura dealership today (open road acura for anyone who lives in NJ) Thanks to the new vocab i learned from autopia i was able to paint a vivid picture in the managers head of what the butcher (the dealership detailer) did to my car / windshield and i have an appointment to meet with him tomarrow to try to resolve the problem. Ill keep you guys updated.
parts and service director was very nice. They polished the glass and replaced the wiperblades and said if that dosent fix the problem we will order a new windshield tomarrow, So the windshield is as clean as anything, but all the scratches are still there! So ill have the new windshield by nextweek. The acura service is top notch but they need to fire their detailer!

I really hope they replace the glass with OEM Acura/Honda glass and OEM trim around it. I've had my windshield replaced and it's just not the same as it was before. It's not bad, but the tint now mismatches the side glass and the trim isn't the same as it was before, which irritates me.

Since you just picked up the car, tell him that if the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction (being a dealership, he will likely handle it half-assed) you won't want the car anymore.
