Dealer Window Plate Adhesive

I got my permanent plates a few weeks back, but my back window still has some adhesive with yellow paper stuck to it from the temp new car plates. I know there are many chemicals to remove it, but I also came across a "plastic razor" to take it off.

My question is whether the plastic razor is better than using a chemical to break down the adhesive.

I believe the NJ ones have a water soluble adhesive...I found out the hard way on my friend's car a couple years ago...tried every solvent and nothing worked...until she suggested water :o

Last one I took off I did with glass cleaner and it was a bit of work, but it came off. Clogs up the MF.

Sweet. I'll try the least abrasive (water, I would be highly impressed with the state of NJ if it was water soluble) and move on from there, from chemical to mechanical. So I guess I'd try water, then Goo Gone, then Pro Polish (all with terry's), then last the plastic blade. I'll update, just in case it can help anyone in the future.
