DC Cleaner and #7?

Hi Guys

I just need a little confirmation that what I'm about to do will work... :)

I have recently clayed, scratch-x'ed, #7 and #26'ed my black '92 miata - and it looks pretty good. Unfortunately, I seem to have a very light bloom / haze on parts of the hood and trunk, which has not disappeared with washing or with Final Detail. I'm not sure what's caused this; my best guess is that rain & a wash between the #7 and #26 steps somehow mucked up the process (no garage; bit of unfortunate weather). :nixweiss

Anyhow, I've decided to start again, and have now got a bottle of Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner. Am I right in thinking I can use this to strip all previous products off the car? Also, can someone confirm that I can follow this immediately with #7 and #26?

I just want to make sure before I start, given last time's fiasco :rolleyes:

Meguiar's products are formulated to work together so it shouldn't be a problem at all. If you have the means, you should pick up a can of #16 and try that. It will really make your black black! ;)

You have the correct procedure. The Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner is a chemical cleaner only and very gentle as far as paint cleaners go. Using a piece of terry cloth towel will give the DCPC a little more bite for more cleaning ability.



Remember, with Meguiar’s paint cleaners, cleaner polishes and pure polishes, you do not need to let these products dry before removing them, in fact they are often easier to remove while still liquid.



The #26 dries clear, so it can be hard to tell when it's dried or hazed. Use the swipe test to check and see if the wax is ready to remove.
