Daytona Blue Detail - 1st time PC use

Welp, here she is. I've been reading on Autopia forums for a while now and finally get to post my own "click & brag" thread. :wavey





Previous to this detail, I had only used hand application of polishes and waxes. Then recently I decided to step up to a PC7424 and some non-OTC products.



I went with the following:

- Wash with Meguiar's NXT wash (2 bucket method)

- Clay with Meguiar's clay kit and Adams' QD

- Wash again...

- Menzerna IP with LC Orange Pad

- Menzerna FPII with LC White Pad

- Menzerna FTG with LC Black Pad

- Collinite 845IW applied with foam pad by hand 2x @ ~2 hours apart

- Natty's Blue applied with LC Blue Pad

Blemish on the hood (from previous vehicle owner) which didn't come out:

Had a little problem with the LC velcro backing plate:

Last shot. Don't mind the left over wax on the bottom of the door. :doh

I still have some learning to do with the PC and work on getting the blemishes out better...

good looking car. looks like mine. Did you have any problem getting all the swirls out. I had to buff mine twice with a rotary and orange pad to get 98% of them off, seems the clear on these cars is harder then normal.. Good luck with it!

LandonZ: Yeah, the OEM clear was pretty hard to work with. I was able to get out all haze and the majority of swirls but that blemish on the hood was there to stay. I think the only way to get that out is to have the hood re-painted.



The rear bumper had been repainted two years ago and seemed to be much easier to work with compared to the factory paint.
