Dawn vs. Palmolive

Is there anything that makes Dawn better at stripping wax than other soaps like Palmolive, Joy, etc...? Just wondering. :wavey

I think Dawn is the preferred dishwashing liquid. It contains a higher Alkaline than most other liquids, which helps strip the wax easier.

Some soaps have skin moisturizers in them. I think Palmolive does “Madge your soaking in it!�. Dawn seems to do the job and rinse clean which is what ya want.

I used dawn to wash grease off my hands for years before I learn to use it to strip wax. Not all dish wash soap will cut grease like dawn. Dawn is the next best thing to hand cleaner.

Yep... and if they make Dawn w/pumice then there would be no need for hand cleaners at all.

Dawn also has a strong degreaser. When the Exxon Valdez spilled oil all over in Alaska, Proctor and Gamble shipped tons of Dawn liquid to help clean the oil off all the animals and birds that were effected. And that is why it drys out you hands so bad. Takes the oils from your skin.

or any other soap that has moisturizers in it. You want a degreaser, not something that adds oil to the paint

If degreasing is the sought-after effect, why not use Simple Green?
