Dash Detailing

Glad you all have had good luck with the FP on........it is kinda odd saying "polishing the wood" eh? :)

Also many product lines, such as Menzerna or Meguiars, that produce polishes for various uses or industries may many times only produce one product, say for polishing plastic or wood, and then repackage it for another use, say cleaning or polishing plastic lenses on cars.

wow nice where do you get this mezerna stuff and did you use a foam applicator to apply and microfiber to remove?
what other products from meguairs, 3m etc would acheive simliar results

Anthony,
Looking good. I like how the DD leaves plastic with a clean and natural look. Thanks for the tip about FP. What is the spot on the gear shift?

CD,
Looks good.

Eric.......I am not really sure what the stain is, it looks like kool-aid or something of that nature. I am going to be testing some new leather stuff direct from Italy for Irene at Top of the Line and I am told they have a wonderful leather cleaner. I'll see if it can remove the stain and I'll be sure to post the results!

Wood Interiors

Nice Job there A O!!!!

Most wood trim today is clearcoated, so polish away as it's usually very thick.

I've used Carpolishes Final Polish, Menzerna FP or Megs #81 Hand Polish with an old polish or old cut pad that was damaged long ago so I cut them up just for wood interior polish work. The foam gives enough bite to remove scratches. Finish with a MF towel and all marks are removed.

Follow up with a good sealant, and it's good as new!

Older cars need a little more work and attention to what type of wood and how it's protected.

would meguiars polish in the maroon bottle work, or show car # 7 work for clearcoated wood dash say in an Q45 or jaguar?
thanks gents

#7 will work but it can be for the most part too much work. If you go that route then use very little and rub in till almost gone.
