Dark Colored Cars Sealant/Wax.

I have read some of the threads, and wanting to get the best for possibly both of my cars. Both are DD's and get lots of TLC. I have a Black and a Red Car. The Black is Spankin new and the Red is still lookin good in her golden years.

I have read alot about Jeff's trigger and Poorboy's Sealant amd Wofgang Sealant, I hope I got that right.

Also, Pinnacle Soveran, Collinite, ClearKote and Four Star. Which one would you recommend for the Winter and the Summer, and is there a kind that would work all year round. I was told that Sealants work better in the summer.

Sorry for the redundacy.

Are you looking for just durability throughout the year? Or do you want looks in the summer and durability in the winter?

I like Jeff Werkstatt Arcylic Jett: Trigger bascially all year round. Gives awesome looks and 5 months protection. I also like Zaino Z5pro; it also gives long durability and awesome looks.

If you want strictly protection in the winter and not so much looks. I like Collinite 845 or 476. Both will last a LONG time.

If you want strictly looks in the summer and dont care about durability. I'd look for a good wax. I've had good success with Poorboy's Natty's Blue and S100 Paste Wax.

I guess looks in the summer, I can and do have the time to wax. Now that I have the PC, I can wax alot faster.

Winter, I would have to go with a more durability, and less look. I was leaning towards the Pinnacle or the Collinite wax. I have also entertained the thought of using Poorboy's EX-P as a Sealant.

Natty's blue and S100 are awesome waxes to use during the summer. Of course there are a lot more expensive ones.

For winter, I basically use Collinite 845/476 or Z5pro. That's it. Ex-P is a nice choice. Auto Detailing and Car Cleaning Products, Tools, and Tutorials - Detailed Image has a nice deal on EX-P. You can e-mail George/Greg and you can get hooked up on some discounts.

if the Pinnacle wax your are talking about is Souveran. That wax is a beauty wax and will not last at all. But def. will give ya some nice looks!

I think I will like the EX-P. I just don't want that here tody, gone tomorrow look, if that is what you are saying about the Soveran.

I still am looking at the Collinite.

Newb alert. Do you use the sealant and the wax at the same time, or one or the other?

People that use both use the sealant for protection then layer it with wax for the look of carnuba. I personally like the sealant look on my red car. Right now I have glaze, 2 coats of sealant, with a coat of AW.

I had good luck with EX-P and Collinite 845 last year. I just did my winter preparation this week actually. I have a black Bonneville, and after a light polish I did two coats of EX-P a day apart, and then one coat of 845. I'll probably do another coat of 845 in another month before snow flies. The car looks great, and I remember it cleaning up very easy the times I washed it before snow (close to two months). The combination lasted me a good five months here in Michigan.

If you ask me, collinite looks better than a sealant and lasts just as long, but is much easier to clean.

Even my favorite sealant, jetseal 109 is not as easy to clean as a good carnauba.

Megs #26 looks great on dark colors. Durability isn't fabulous but most of us re-wax WAY before it dies off.

Don't forget to throw Ultima into the lineup of possibilities. David is putting his money where is mouth is and offering a sampler kit of the Ultima line for 40 bucks. (I just ordered mine).

To me, any company that is willing to do this must have a great product. Can't wait to find out. :)
