My %$#@ neighbors decided it was time to burn some wood etc right next to my yard today...... It is currently smoldering and i am paranoid as usual... I do not know if the ash from the fire is going to hurt my paint or not...... I am about twenty feet from the fire and i cannot move my truck any further away than that..... Are my fears justified or am i jus paranoid?

In a worst case scenario, you might have to clay. I don't think it'll cause any damage, my friend burns stuff with a truck nearby all the time. I haven't noticed any damage yet.
Oh yeah, if you're really worried, and it gives you a little peace of mind, you might want to consider soaking the truck down with a hose.

I second the clay if necessary, but it probably isn't. One of the Xtreme details was a daily driver near a blacktop recycling plant.

Sure it can hurt your paint, though it probably will not.
Ash, when wet, is used to make lye. That's not nice to paint. In fact, lye is a well known paint stripper.
Creosote also etches paint, as well as being sticky as all get out.
There is also the matter of what they are burning.
That said, I wouldn't worry about it. You're far enough away.

Yeah, just clean it up well when they're finished burning. Every Thanksgiving the S8 gets all kinds of "chimney emissions" on it from the other cottages at the resort we go to, but it always cleans up just fine.
