Danase Speed Shine vs. Adam's Detail Spray

I'm wondering what might be the differerence between Danase Speed Shine and Adam's Detail Spray.

I have about 1/2 gallon of Adam's DS left and am always wanting to try something different. Are there any differences between these two? Cost is about the same.

I'm pretty happy with ADS

Thanks,

Every QD is a little different to some degree. I use adams detail spray, but never have tried Danase's - I need to burn off some more qd before i buy anything more . . . no room. WHat have you to loose except like 10 - 15 bucks for a bottle shipped to your house to try out and compare. . . .

I have used both and my scales tip to Danase. I have a review in the Prod. Discussion Section. To me the Speed Shine seemed a little more slicker after application. It also seems like it may a little more cleaning ability. I love it as a clay lube. Bobs ships so quick and has great customer service. Although I didn't have a problem with Adams cust. service when I ordered from them.

Does anyone know if Chem Guys makes Adams spray? They have a slightly different color, but smell exactly the same. Danase spray is next on my list, gotta try 'em all!

Well i had a gallon of Adams that i went through and tried out the CG's speed shine which appears to be identical in performance smell color etc but I am not sure if Danase is the same thing or is it just coincidence that they have the same name??

I think the CG's name is "quick shine" or "speed wipe" but the names dont really matter to me. I just prefer the Danase over Adam's. It feels like it add that little extra cleaning or slickness but maybe not that noticable to some. I also prefer it b/c I can get it quicker.

I believe Danase mentioned that CG custom makes his QD, and that his version has some added slickness and gloss. I'm guessing Adams is made by them as well, and probably aslo his custom blend. Pretty cool that a detailer can custom order what he wants in a QD.

Yeah, I figure you are all a smart bunch so I don't even try to pretend I have some sort of personal chemist or that I am making chemicals in my bath tub. I use Chemical Guys and a couple of other places to do custom blending for me. Basically I am paying for a chemical company to make products to suite my wants.

As for price, I think I am a little higher than other quick detailers, I look to be at par with Adam's, but I have not had one complaint on my products. The Speed Shine is more slick, leaves more shine, and has better cleaning ability than anything I have used. I know it doesn't mean much coming from the guy selling it so I ask that you try it out for yourself before making any conclusions.

Sincerely,

Bob Daniels

so i would use you QD a boost in between waxes/washes?

I mainly use QD to add a little slickness to the paint and clean light raod grime and dust off the paint if the car isn't in need of a full wash.

I have Adam's, FK1 425, AquaWax (not really a QD), Poorboys Spray and Gloss, Zaino Z-8 and Z-6, Meg's Quick Detailer, and Megs NXT speed detailer. Of them all, for how I use them, I like Adam's best for QD and AquaWax for shine. I also like the Zaino stuff but since they are not sold in gallon size I tend to not use them because they cost so much.

OK, I'll bite... I have been experimenting around with a lot of QD products. I did try Adam's because my local distributor is so cool (no sales tax, no shipping and a 10% discount). It is slick was my first impression. The only downside I have seen... I only sprayed the hood panel and after a very windy, dusty day my hood accumulated much more dust than the rest of the car. Yes, it was very, very noticeable. I am not sure about who the source is for Adam's QD, but CG is the main contender. Right now I am using it on my wifes car to do an overall comparison. I am impressed that the overspray on the windows is very impressive. In fact you can do the windows. I know other QD's say you can do that, but the Adam's QD is more user friendly on the overspray attribute. Plus the smell is very nice - like fruit. My wife likes it.

The In&Out spray is awesome. It's not a protectant. But it can reach hard to get places. And again the overspray is not an issue. The In&Out spray fragrance is a strong baby powder. Strange attribute.
