Dacp?

Koop

I'm just a man.
So is DUAL ACTION suposed to mean it's dual acting cause it cleans and polishes or is it for a dual action sander buffer? I've always wondered and finaly gathered the guts to ask.

I think that you are right it does both cleans and polishs at the same time. The paint really comes out squeeky clean and takes away minor to Mid Oxidation.

Fr0zen's analysis seems correct, and the product name would appear to agree Dual Action Cleaner/Polish.

I know what it is and does. I was just wondering where it got the name from. *shrug* do you even use it with a da?

It says its ment to be used with a Machien I guess a Rotary the Dual action is probley reffering to the Dual Cleaning Polishing Properties it has.

I don't have the pro catalog in front of me, but I believe they are both 6 on the abrasive scale. Obviously dacp will not leave protection on the surface. One may have more polishing oils, but not sure which.

I believe that #66 would have more polishing oils. DACP seems to have more cleaning properties. I use it with the rotary and it really gets a lot of gunk out of the paint.

I find the paint it be incredibly smooth after DACP I guess that is one of the cleaning properties it has.

DACP

You just can't go wrong with DACP as a starter for finishes that have swirls. It will clean and remove swirls AND polish as well. The secret is letting it fully break down.

Most do use a glaze after to bring up the finish to mirror reflection. I use 3M PIII-MG and followed with Glue-Zerna, er oh.. sorry... Menzerna FP on a grey finish pad so ONLY the polish works the finish. Get's it to an incredible mirror shine!

Fire up the PC, add DACP and good by swirls/marks!

With a rotary, it's just quicker as the rotary can heat it up as well.

So so true! I've had very good success with DACP with both the PC and rotary. It is a very versatile product. I would guess the most common error made with it is not working it through the abrasives and into the burnishing stage.

3M PI-III after DACP is a great combo. One of these days I really need to try Speed Glaze. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I would agree! I wouldn't be without DACP in my arsenal! I'm anxious to see how SSR2 & SSR3 compare to it in performance, looks, and ease of use.

Might even have to get a good 6" backing plate, and fire up the "ole grinder" (rotary), and see how well they work with this pile of Meguiar's pads I have! :D
