What's the current equivalent of the DACP? I will have a chance to work on a 1992 white Integra that has never received any detailing before. There is noticeable oxidation and some light scratches if one looked at it under fluorescent light at an angle. My experience is limited to using only SMR to work on my own 2002 to refresh the paint every so often (once or twice a year max). My Autopia knowledge is a little bit behind by about a couple of years. Judging by the appearance of the paint on the Integra, I know I can handle it easy with DACP and a cutting pad. However, no retailer stocks DACP locally (Honolulu) anymore. Hence, I would like to find out if there is something similar out there. Or, do I have to go the 2-step route of using, eg. Medallion paint cleaner, followed by SMR? All suggestions appreciated.

Do you have access to 3M polishes? If so the 3M PI III Rubbing compound is a touch more aggressive and should do the trick.
The only other thing that I can think of is Hi-Temp's medium cut or Poorboy's SSR2.5 which I find to be just a touch less abrasive, but leaves a better finish.

IIRC, the Medallion is basically nonabrasive and most SMRs are too mild for what you're dealing with.
I also recommend the PI-III RC (05933) followed by PI-III MG (05937). It's a good, and quick combo. You could probably use both products faster/easier than you could use just the DACP (just IMO).

Only reason I didn't get #83 from him is because I just happened to win an eBay auction. However, that was 2 weeks ago, and I'm still waiting for it to arrive.:nixweiss Ranney would have been faster, like, same-day fast!
Check him out first. There are a couple of other places here in Honolulu, nothing against them, but Ranney is one of the greatest guys to do business with, a true "goes the extra mile" kind of guy!
