DACP+#9 but not good result..

I used DACP + #9 but I wasn't not satisfied with the result.

3 weeks ago, I applied DACP only with PC + CMA cutting pad.

I didn't like the result. I thought because it was my first time to use the PC.

2 weeks ago, I tried with DACP (cutting pad) and #9 (Meg polishing pad) this time. I guess this time I felt comfortable using PC but the result was not good enough. I still see lots of circular swirls. I dont have pics now but I'll take some.

now I'm wondering if I was expecting alot from DACP plus PC combo?? or I should just move on to next product (more abrasive than DACP).

I have a couple of questions.

(1) I was using DACP with 5-6 speed and I felt the paint lost the all smoothness. It made squeaking sound when I wiped off with MF. ofcourse after I applied SEC and S100 it's fine but did I use the PC too fast?? or it's normal to make the squeaking sound?

(2) I couldn't remove the swirls because are those swirl under my clear coating?? the car I worked on is Lexus and I remember that Lexus black is not clear coated. but I talked to a couple of ppl and they told me that this car is clear coated black. It is '93 and it's possible that previous owner repainted with clear coating. when I use the pc, I dont see any dark black spot on my pads. (are they supposed to be on the pad if it's not clear coated?) anyways, so I was thinking that if he (previous owner) repainted with clear coat. is it possible that those swirls sitting under the clear coating??is that why I can't simply remove them?

I hate swirls :angry

It could be just that. If you did not see any black on the pads, then I can assume it's been clearcoated, which was not standard for Lexus blacks.

I own a '03 SC430 in Red, and I have swirls, but DACP should remove them. I tried Menzerna polish, or better know as Glue-Zerna. Tuff to remove if used with a PC. Easier to remove if rotory was used.

Try to use DACP on one area, depending on how bad they are, with the polish pad until DACP has broken down. Clean the area and check results. DId it do anything? If not, well, you could go to a more aggressive product on same area and check again.

Also check all pads for any debris or roughness, you may be adding micro-marring to the black. Look at the areas and see if the differ from other area you have not touched.

Keep us posted to your results.
