Hi, haven't been here for a while. I got a rotary (XMAS present) in addition to my PC that I have been using for yrs. My ?? is can I use some of my DA pads on the rotary?? Or are the pads specific to each unit. I do have the velcro backing plate on the rotary

Re: DA pads on a rotary?

They can be interchangeable. I use DA pads on a rotary for more control. Just make sure they fir with your backing plate.

SONUS SFX das 6 inch pads just fit on my makita 9227 but I mostly use them on plastic bits

Re: DA pads on a rotary?

Yeah, that's what I had done. I use all my PC pads on my Makita 9227 rotary. I have 3 set of flexi BP. So, yes you can use those PC pad on your rotary, provided you have the right BP.

All of the Sonus pad are interchangable between DA and Rotary, but it depends on the speed of use.

Re: DA pads on a rotary?

Can the 6" BPs used with my PC 7424 be used with a rotorary/makita? the pads i'm using with my PC are brand new LC 7".5" pads..i don't wanna use 2 different pads right now..

IIRC you need a new backing plate for the rotary. The BP's are not interchangeable. On for each machine>
"Argh", I thought so. i'll need a bp the same size as the one on the pc( 6" ) correct, any problems using a 6" on a rotorary?

Re: DA pads on a rotary?

Holland Patrick or to anyone..... i know pads are more personal preference but when using the rotary and edge2000 pads do use.... do u do most of your work with a 6in da pad or the 8in pads reason is i may order some edges2000 pads and give them a shot but i cant decided between a 6in or 8in, I would perfer 6in so i may be verastile for my rotary and G100

also which(color) pads do you recommend? tIA

I like the 6 inch pads but when i'm doing LARGE car and trucks I have a few 8 inch pads.. I would suggest Green and Blue.. those are my goto pads..I'm finding that the poorboy's ssr line likes the blue pad... also I would try to get the Waffle pads if you can I know they are out there or Arron can get them to the shops with ease if you order them.. they are SUPPER SWEET to use.

thanks Holland Patrick....yea i saw your post about the waffle pads very informative...how are thos pads holding up and are they durafoam or reg foam and do they cut/useful as the regular cut/foam pad

they work great and the foam is soft as butter.. I love them... they are holding up well now it seems like the car i was usingthem on was chewwing them up...
