Did you find that the yellow pads lost some cut after a while? I haven't used them since forever but they used to wear down kinda fast for me.
Is that a *really* cool green, or does it just look like it under the fluorescents?

My problem with the pads is not the foam surface wearing down it's that the velcro on the pads becomes worn to the point that the pads become unusable. The surface does soften up as well, but the velcro has definitely been the biggest problem for me.
The combination I used for this also wasn't aggressive enough it took many many passes and the oxidation was still not 100% removed.
The paint is very unique on this car it does look more green in the picture than it actually is though.

Huh :think: I had that happen with *one* batch of pads, but that was the only time.

If you want something more aggressive, you could try the Meguiar's 4" burgundy cutting pads, or the 4" SurBuf (?SP? I can never remember those cutsie spellings) ones.

Nice job. The cyclo is an excellent machine. It is not the newest or hottest piece of equipment, but just flat out delivers. I would suggest you get the edge dual sided pad system so you will not have to worry about the velcro or centering the pads.

I do almost all my pad washing with regular blue Dawn. I either blow them dry with the compressor or just let them air-dry.

Yeah, that system works *VERY* well on the Cyclo :xyxthumbs

Yeah, it's basically the "Edge" system that, IIRC, 3M now owns the rights to. I was a little leery of it at first, but !oh man! is it nice. It's a lot better than the conventional velcro and lightyears away from the original "booted pads" I started with in the '80s.
