Cyclo Users, I need opinions

Good Morning,



After selling my PC I have tried the following machines, Bosch 1250DEVS, did not like the forced rotation mode, UDM, vibrated way too much for my liking. The only reason I have not bought a Cyclo yet is it appears to be awkward to use. After reading all I could I think the Cyclo would be the machine for me based on minimal vibration, no forced rotation, been around forever. For those using the Cyclo is it awkward to work with? I should also say I'm just using it on my personal stuff. Last question for users is, Edge or Cyclo pads? I am just looking for opinions.

I have been using the Cyclo for six years. It is a great machine and is not at all awkward to use. Eventually you will learn to rotate and maneuver the machine to get into very tight areas. I recently made the switch to the Edge pads to reduce vibration and save me valuable time.

Yeah, I agree. I've been using my older one since the mid-'80s and it's still the most user-friendly polisher I've ever tried. I use mine one-handed with no trouble at all.
 
Thanks guys. I don't want to keep buying things and returning them. I see Brad is using the Edge pads, what is your guys opinion on which pads? Please keep in mind I'm only doing my own stuff so the time savings with the egde would not be of concern for me.

I'm hoping one day to get one too - kinda gave the wife a big hint and she replied - well Christmas is coming up. As for pads, I'm going with Edge, had 2-3 people say they were good and then Scottwax said that's what he uses, that's good enough for me. I like the Edge system on my rotary, just don't use it much.

Thanks. I agree with what you are saying, I think it will be edge for me as well now that I see you can get 2 different pads in 1. I just have to convince myself that there is no chance of the mounting posts hitting the paint.

You mean by like pushing down too hard? If so that won't happen.
 
i just got my cyclo polisher yesterday, it seems a tad heavy but not to bad. Took it for a test drive and there seems to be no vibration what so ever with the quick release edge pads.

Glad to hear that. I ordered the same things today.
 
Both of you purchased a high quality, durable tool in the Cyclo.



I had never used one until this year. I'd used all sorts of orbitals as well as pneumatic and electric sanders including the Porter Cable for polishing.



Unless I need a rotary first, the Cyclo is the one I use.
 
OK Ok, rub it in - Junebug is Cyclo-less for the time being, congrats to ya'll on your purchase, I hope to join you later on this year. BTW- IF there were anyway to damage paint with an Edge adapter - I would have done so with my rotary by now, it's "Bug" proof!

Thanks. Good news on no damage from the edge setup. I'll let you know how I like it. Christmas is right around the corner. :woot:

Good news. I'm hoping that this will be my LAST polisher purchase.
 
Yes it is - and I just lined up about half dozen details to do in the near future. I'm thinking when ol Santa slides his fat butt down the chinney, he better have a big box from Danase with him!
