The Whaler Loves Detail City
Does anyone use this tool besides Anthony Orosco? I read alot about PC and rotaries but nothing about this piece of equipment. After the fall season I'm going to decide if I want to go powertool or am I satisfied with the look I get from just using my hands. Right now I'm just in the research stage so I'm looking into all possibilties.
 
From what I have read it is between a PC and a Rotary in that is has more oomph to get out scratches and what not than a pc - but safer than a rotary with a smaller learning curve :) -
 
The cyclo takes a little bit getting used to but when you do it is a real nice tool to have in your arsenal.
It really is nice because it doesnt bog down like the PC. makes quick work of marring with something like SSR2.5.
 
Right now if I do decide to go powertool I don't know if I should go Cyclo or PC.:dunno
 
I was able to see a Cyclo in person today. If I want to use foam pads, do I need to buy special velcro cups for it or does the tool by itself already accept pads? Thanks

I bought my Cyclo at Detail King http://www.detailking.com/ and my package was $289.00 which also included 2 terry bonnets, 2 shampoo brushes and a wrench to remove polishing pads & to install the brushes. It is an awesome machine.
 
My cyclo package was $265 and came with 2 polishing, 2 finishing, 2 cutting pads and the velcro pad holder. I only use my PC for cleaning carpets (with the cyclo brush) or if there is a spot on a car where the cyclo has a hard time reaching.

Not to hijack a thread, but has anyone tried the products at detail king? I was going to try their products until I got here and read the great write ups on poorboy's products( real happy I went with poorboy's :jump )

It is my weapon of choice when it comes to using a D/A polisher. I like the PC and it has it moments when it shines but In my opinion the cyclo shines more often than the PC. It really does come down to personal preferance, some people really hate the cyclo beecause it can be awkward at fist, has a slight learning curve to it. Overall though for marring removal it (cyclo) is just one notch under a rotary in the effectiveness.
In my opinion you should buy both :D
 
Yeah I'm looking into eventually getting one. Beautiful thing about the Cyclo is that it is similarly safe as the PC :bigups
