Another classic example of a nut case. "You guys cleaned my carpet and windows three months ago and they're dirty again. I want them redone!" Yeah Right!

Problem solved !!!! If ya dig in, there is always an answer. It's like CSI. Maybe he is an alright guy, just unaware of "the facts of paint".

Tell him why it happened and explain to him that he will need paint polishing because of his washing technique's, it's not your fault the swirls are there now, unless he wants to sign up for a weekly wash package then you can't guarantee what happens to his paint after you correct it. Educate him on how he should wash to minimize the introduction of swirls in his paint. If he doesn't like it too bad.

Well, it's clearly obvious it wasn't your fault. So now at this point, I would just explain to him in clear words but professionally what caused those swirls and that you are not obligated to remove them for free. But, you can re-polish it for him and then as Acuumulator mentioned, offer to wash it weekly for him so that the chances are greatly reduced to enducing swirls, marring, etc.
When we detail a car, we don't create some type of invisible barrier against paint damage. That is what sadly I believe alot of customer's think.
