currently detailing my car need HELP!! gloss-it and cyclo

so i am detailing my car and after i get done claying it looks like a residue is on the car. but i tried cleaning it off with IPA so then i thought maybe they were scratches? so i started by using the orange pad with the evo cut. and i wipe off and its still there so i thought maybe a finer polish would take em out so i did a green pad with just evo polish and it does seem better but still there!? help me!!! i dont want to do the whole car and have to do it again? do i need a more aggressive combo? heres some pictures. i dont want to go any further till i know what to do!! thanks in advance

those are all before the correction in polish and pad..here are some afters. think i might have to do a couple spots again...i can still see a little bit of scraches in some of them but are looking better. i still need to go over them with the green pads and evo polish. tmrw. i do have some befores here to on the side i haven't touched.

It does look like you have some marring from the clay in that fender shot, although that could be marring from something else. Do you have machine polishing experience or is this your first attempt?
 
first attempt...so do i need to go more aggressive? that fender is untouched...i havent done anything yet..it almost looks like a residue
 
It's kind of difficult to tell what you're dealing with from the pictures. When you used the "Cut" are you sure you worked the polish enough/broke it down all the way?
 
well the evo cut has a much longer break down time..i thought i did? it was barely visable after breaking down? do you think i should try a more aggressive combo?

I'm not sure how much I'll be able to help here because I'm still quite the newbie with this stuff as well.



I've not used the Evo cut, I've been using the Gloss-It One step which is supposed to be between Extreme cut and Evo Cut.



Looking at your pictures it looks like you have some pitting on the hood...or rock chips. Subie paint is notorious for their thin paint. I know, I have an '06 Outback and there are rock chips all over the place. Then again, I can't really tell by your pictures.



One other thing that someone mentioned was that are you sure you're not using too much product and you're working it long enough?

The video is a little misleading though. It doesn't show him working the whole process. What I mean is that you can tell there was some editing from when he started working to when he finished up with the panel. For the One Step, I worked each section a few minutes and going nowhere near as fast as Rich does in the video. Actually, I started out that fast to start then I slowed it down quite a bit.



Oh, and really, you don't use much product at all. Just put a small dab (abour dime size) at the 9:00 and 3:00 position of each pad and rub it into the pad a little and that's all you need.



I'm not sure how to tell you when you've worked the product long enough. It just sort of gets clear and that's when it's ready.



With the One step, I got quite a bit of correction out with just one pass and the orange pad.
