HELP ME !!! I own a G35 coupe... and for the cup holders theres a tray (i guess you can call it that) for smaller drinks and you pull it out for larger drinks... well anyways its stuck due to some coke that spelled in between it and i cant get it out... and i dont want to break anything... any suggestions on how to get it loose to clean it ? Should i just drop a lil water down there to loosen it up ? Its stuck pretty good. Thanks in advanced !!!

Yeah, you are going to have to mist some water in there and fiddle with it until it comes loose. Should be almost all plastic, and I don't know your geometry, but be careful if the water could wind up somewhere you don't want it.

Some may disagree, but I once used some WD 40 to unstick some things that were stuck due to Coke. Works well, can be messy, but it sure did unstick everything quickly!

I'd try a steamer with an attachment that you can wrap a MF towel over first. If that's not an option, a hot, damp MF towel should suffice. Just becareful around any radio components!

Why not just use some APC diluted to correct ratio (e.g. 10:1 for interior cleaning with Megs)? It should help to loosen it up.

That's what I would do, then steam that area once it comes up.

I had this happen on a used car I bought a couple years ago... I wound up taking the front cover off to disassemble the unit (wasn't too bad, don't know how hard it would be on a G35 though). When I finally got to it... used "Goo Gone"... made it look brand new.

As little as I know, I would say Goo Gone is the "clay" of interior plastics... it has never negatively affected any plastic I put it on, but lifts up the worst of built in cruds. My favorite are those parts that see a lot of skin contact, like plastic armrests etc... that no amount of scrubbing lifts out... this stuff brings it back to stock... anyhow, let me can it before I sound like I work for the place.

Hope this helps...

Good idea...

Forther, IMHO the best remedy is to go to the nearest Radio Shack, buy a can of Philips Contact Spray (the oily version) and use that. Not only does it lubricate and loosen grime and gooey-sticky stuff but it also cleans and waterproofs electric parts...

WD40 is the next option and it is safe on electrical circuitry...

Good luck...

I've got the same setup as you, nice sometimes, but I can see why it would be a pain to get up.

I'd try some warm water with a diluted APC, spray it on and try and wiggle it around to loosen it up.

I can't imagine that there would be anyplace you aren't supposed to get water near there, I mean, it's a cup holder, meant to have a liquid in it, it would be stupid to put a bunch of electronic stuff right under it

K thanks for all the suggestions... i think ill try a lil misting water first... second i dont have a steamer... third what is APC?
