"Crypton" Fabric

Saw this on HGTV as I was flipping tonight. This stuff is stain-proof and really durable. It's a little expensive, but imagine the possibilties. Especially in cars!! No more staining. It's not supposed to hold on to odor either!

FYI... this is not actually a special fabric, it is a chemical finish. It's been around for years, mostly for the hospital and hotel industry. It's an expensive chemical finishing process that would not be suitable for automotive use because it doesn't breathe and it "evaporates" for a long time which will constantly fill the car interior with fumes! You think new vinyl fogs the windows... you should see this stuff! It's OK in a room because there is plenty of ventilation.

Hm...they obviously havent used it in any hotels or hospitals I've ever been into. Oh well, just when you think there's some glimpse of hope for the future....the real facts surface to smite it all away.
