crusty salt line

Hi guys!!!

I have weather techs which are great however there is an area that they didn't cover, and I have a line of crusty salt on my black rug underneath the drivers side seat. What is the best way to remove this ? I have vacuumed it several times roughly and no luck. Thanks in advance!!!

I used a liberal dose of apc and a stiff brush and then blotted the area with a dry towel and it came out great.

I have similar issues with the carpet in my cars. The following steps worked perfectly this year: 1: Scrape excess salt off the carpet and vacuum - this is a key step. 2. Spray on Folex liberally, let dwell, scrub, and blot/vacuum up. 3. If you still have residual salt, follow up with a mixture of 1/4 white vinegar and 3/4 water. Good luck!

Isn't the idea to use something slightly acidic? I know that some "salt remvers for shoes" are basically just vinegar (well, as best I can tell).

I've had great luck using Fabric Clean or an APC then alternating scrubbing/mytee extraction. The heated water seems to help immensely.

For a moment with your title, I thought you were talking about some of our older "more seasoned" members.

Since I see you already have advice on how to tend to your seasoning dilemma, I'll go back under my rock.
