Croc Hunter Steve Irwin killed when he was atop a stingray filming an ocean expedition on stingrays . A few years back i use to watch all the episodes he would crack me up and was full of energy,I'm r sorry to hear this happen. To be honest i though one day his death would be in the news not for stinrays but r being killed by a croc.

Just prior to reading this thread I was having a discussion about this exact same thing. I thought it interesting that the manager said practically the same as you about his death.

The truth is I am not sad about his death. He lived his life as he saw fit. I am envious of his ability to do what he liked (most likely loved) and still take care of his family. I am sorry for the loss of a loved one considering his wife and children not to mention the parents and siblings.

He is a one of a kind character. His character will be missed!

Crazy character. I heard Australlians were embarassed by him, but he was fun to watch. I guess if you play with fire...

WoW!! This is the first I've heard of his death. I feel so sad. He was a true adventurer! I'm so sorry that his light has been snuffed out. :(

Justin said Steve wife was on vacation and didn't know at the time he was killed.cwcad i kinda was thinking the same thing you said, it is sad for his wife and family. I think his daughter may only be 2-3 yrs old,but he did what he enjoyed doing and honestly i knew some day i would hear this only i thought he would have been killed by a croc..

Atleast he lived his life to the fullest, and doing somthing he loved instead of sitting behind a desk. It just kinda sucks, because I guess to be killed by one is very rare, even if they do get you, its usally in the leg or foot from stepping on them and almost no one dies from them. Yea I would also have thought he would have been killed by somthing alittle more "deadlier" then a sting ray.

Actually his daughter was 8 (I believe) and his son was just shy of 3. At least his daughter (Bindi) was able to know him and was part of lots of his episodes, learning his passion.

It is absolutely ironic that he was killed by an animal known to be passive, and such a freak ocurrence. I think they're doing a tribute to Steve at 6pm tonight on Animal Planet.

I loved to watch Steve Irwin. Crazy stuff this guy did. He loved animals and used a lot of his money for conservation and buying land to protect natural habitat for animals. It is a great loss for animals and mankind. God Bless his family and his soul.

94 people viewed the thread 08 people felt compassionate enough about his death and his family to post a reply  .

Maybe 8 people viewed this thread 11.75 times each or maybe people feel bad but don't feel they need to post to make themselves feel better. Live and let live.

Too bad about Steve. Australians may have been embarassed by him, but he was a great educator and advocate for wildlife, and there is nobody who hasn't heard of him, so he must have been doing something right. He leaves behind a great legacy. I am truly saddened that he is gone.

Amazing how one would think he would get little fame, but just about everyone has heard of it and feels sorry. I guess his funny attitude found a way into everyones memories.

I'd watch him with various animals and my hands would sweat. Something on fox news last night mentioned that he pulled out the part that was in his chest and that could have been the cause of death. Similar to a fishing hook (many of them) and it does some damage when removed. Not confirmed by autopsy yet though. I heard about his death on the radio and it blew me away. Very sad indeed.
