Hey guys... I'm a new/used car dealer and I am going ahead with a new division that will take me out of the showroom and into the detailing bay. A mobile unit is also in the works. I'm not a professional designer but I know my way around Adobe Photoshop CS and have been working on a name and logo for my new upcoming venture......

I absolutely respect all the advice/comments that you guys give so please dont hesitate to speak up whether you like it or not. For now we will critique the logo as it will be the main emphasis on a business card.

I dont really like 'backround" pics and go for the 'clean design' most of the time.....

If I get good approval on the logo I will then start on the business card...

cheers and thanks... Paul

I like the name and most of the logo. I just don't dig the font used for the "detailing" I am not likignt he "d" or "g" or how the "T" is a capital letter and the rest are small case.

i agree with danase, like the name very modern, bad font on detailing. did you hear about the kid with addhd? he never paid attention but when he did he was extraordinary at it.

Nice and clean. I like the color scheme. I agree with the comments about the font on "detailing." I also think the "high definition" should be larger and the font makes "definition" hard to make out.

wow... so many valid points brought up ......... Thanks guys...

Here it is a little revised...

I took the advice of making 'high definition' bigger.... and changed the way the 1st and last letter on Detailing look... it still doesn't look 100% 'right' as I have to go search for a font that will complement the other a little better.

not too add too much, high defination detailing is a mouth full.

does any one else agree? like 'high def detalinging' works, or 'high defination detail' and if you did change it up a bit it'd might help with the lettering = P

What does a non Italic font look like w/ detailing? I think i cursive with a non italic type font would work better together

ok.. I'm thinking I'm liking the 'caps' on HD.....

....

Picus.... feel free to do what you want. If you designed your logo and site I'll be more then glad to take anything you suggest in high regard.... :up lol

I can see that the feed back on the name is kinda so-so....but this is the reasoning....

anybody that reads High Definition will know that I am refering to high-tech, high resolution viewing experience. Definately not an old guy... plus we all know that everything is better in High Definition... ;)...

Ya, I definitely like the caps on "High Definition" (and for what it's worth, I really like the name). What font is "High Definition" in? I messed with some fonts for "Detailing" but it was hard to judge because I don't have the other font. Did you check out the one I linked about for "Detailing"? It's a little unconventional, but I think it looks neat (though it might be too hard to read).

Oh, I did do my site design; thanks!

Thoughts? Horribly off from the way you were going? Love it?

I suggest changing the "High Definition" to High Def and switch to a font that's crisp and clean. That way the font doesn't contradict the message. What you have is nice but it doesn't pop and, for me, doesn't visually reinforce the words. Colors that suggest precision and sparkle may also be better choices than the wamer earth tones.

An example would be black letters with a cyan blue edge or vice-versa. Just my $0.02.

Actually IMO I think you need to chuck the whole thing and start again from a different angle, it all looks very amateurish, like you're trying too hard. The kearning is all off, the fonts don't compliment each other, the font sizes are wacky, and the resolution is very low.

- agreed -

I also like 'High Definition Detailing'. However, you really should think about using block letters instead of script. And also use more of a precision style of lettering. One that compliments the high definition theme.

If you want a nice logo I suggest talking to Anthony from Welcome to 10-2 Graphics! Anthony actually designed the new Danase labels that will be on the new batch of products and he was awesome to work with. Plus he is an autopian.

wow... funny all the things you dont think about, until you put it out to an audience! :spot

I like the altered options by picus and deadlock32 but I have a completely different vision of what I need to do in order to carry out the High Definition theme. Suggesting more 'blocked' letters is one of them.

When I have some time tonight I will go on a hunt for Fonts!

Thanks people!!
