Creased Leather

In a 325i that I Just bought, it has creases in the leather.

Is there any way to remove these and tighten the leather?

I have heard of using a hair dryer before, but Im not sure about that.

I have leatherique that I will be using on them, but im not sure what to do about the creases.

Thanks

Bryan

There is not a whole lot you can do with it, unless you want to have the seat recovered. The Leatherique might help soften the creases and make them less visable, but I don't think it will totally remove them.

I have always had a problem with wrinkling in my leather. when it is a new car, they are nice and smooth. Then, after a short time, they start to get these veins in them and the leather takes on quite a shine. It really makes the interior look old and worn. I still cannot figure out how to prevent this condition.

I used Leatherique on the seats in my Mustang. There are a lot of creases, but after using the Leatherique, they are much less noticeable and the leather is much softer. I'm not sure, but I think that the creases have continued to improve since applying the Leatherique several months ago... I know that they will never disappear, but I don't think there is any other product out there that will do better!

..or is the Leatherique just deteriorating the top coat on your leather? I'm sure that if it completely goes away, the leather will absorb it better and make the wrinkles go away temporarily.

Heating the leather should do the trick. Use a heat gun or something of the like to heat up the leather. It will contract, but it is a very long and slow process. Good luck.

Im not sure what leatherique does exactly.

go look for yourself at www.leatherique.com

from what I have read it is probably the best leather treatment availble.

What have you read, other than their marketing, that makes you believe it's the best? Who did you compare it to, and how did you come to this conclusion? Thanks.

The posts here about leatherique, the pictures here of before and after, all the Rolls Royce(and other high priced cars) owners who use it(read on their boards, Rolls Royce clubs etc), and the fact that ive used lexol before and last night after using leatherique I can now say that I like it better.

The leather in a Rolls Royce is far different from most cars. The leather in your BMW is the same type used in a Chevy S10, Cadillac, Explorer, Camry, etc...top coated leather that does not benefit from true leather conditioners, and is more likely harmed. Search the archives for the facts.

I think that I would just use Pristine Clean on a healthy clear coated leather without the oil. The purpose of the clear coat is to keep the leather from drying out, but I think that even clear coated leather can deteriorate. If you have clear coated leather that is in such bad shape that it is dry and creased, Leatherique Rejuvenating Oil is going to help.

Yes I know the leather in the 325is is the same as other cars but in this case it needed thea leatherique(bad condition that lexol just wasnt doing anything for)

The M5 on the other hand is higher quality then most other cars and really benefits from the leatherique since it is not clear coated.

I am posting this from my experience with the products.

Yours may be different, assuming you have tried both, but from my experience leatherique is better(and doesnt have that horrible smell).
