Cray guy tried to run me off the road!

I just don't get people these days, they lose it over the most mundane $%$*. A few days ago, some tool in an older Cavalier wagon was just crawling in the left lane, so I moved to the middle lane and passed him. Didn't look at the guy, didn't flip him off, nothing, I just passed him. A minute or two later, the tool that was going 50 in the left lane was now right on my bumper (I was going around 70) and flipping me off. Too bad for him my brakes are much better than his and so is my acceleration. Nailed the brakes, then as he tried to change lanes and go around me, I punched it and kept him behind. I guess at that point he realized there were two of us in the car and he took the next exit. Still can't figure out what that a$$hole's problem was. If you don't want people to pass you, don't go 50 in the left lane of a 3 lane freeway. :rolleyes.

Warning, general rant...

I always drive in a way that no one has to slow down for me or has to make a quick lane change to avoid me. I always signal, I don't dart in and out of traffic, etc. Yet it seems like practically everyone else out on the road is completely unaware they share the road with other drivers. I don't get it. No more defensive driving, no more common courtesy, etc. Everyone is out for themselves. :hairpull:

...and don't get me started on all the illegals on the road. Y'all up north have no idea what we put up with out here. Nothing like getting stuck behind some illegal afraid to go faster than 20 under the limit because they don't have current (or have forged) registration and no insurance. Plus a lot of them have their beer in a paper bag and are drinking them on the way to the job site. Not to mention their 6 kids, half of them in diapers standing up in the rear seat. :wall

Scott I think we should all just be glad we don't have to drive in florida where the average driver can't remember why they got into the car in the first place :)

Reminds me of an old joke...

An old guy is sitting before his doctor and the doctor says "I have some bad news and some even worse news". "What's the bad news" asks the guy. "You have alzheimers". "Oh my gosh, what is the even worse news then?" "You also have cancer", the doctor replies. "Ah", says the old man. "Well, at least I don't have alzheimers".

:chuckle:

Buy american were the parts are made world wide, and assembled in mexico, and partially made into a componant here, shiped back to mexico for instalation then ship back here for sale.

brilliant.!

yea i love this, I work for UNION pacific rr. i always get crap for driving my nissan. i wonder what tv the others are watching? i wonder if they always eat american food when they go out to eat? i wonder if all of their clothes are american made (now thats hard to do)? i wonder if they have a cell phone? i wonder where the radio (in ones american made) car is made? so, buy american? first we have to make american. thats my two cents on that. and as far as giving the dude the finger, that is also punishable under the (road rage) laws. due to its aggrevated content/intent.

I used to have fun teasing a guy I worked with about this. Questions like, "Which is an American car, the Camaro built in Canada or the Honda built in the U.S.?"

Yeah, even though my car weighs only around 2950 pounds, it only has a small 2.5 V6 with 170 hp. However, the acceleration in it is absolutely brutal compared to a late 80s Cavalier station wagon! :LOLOL

Definitely looking into an '02-'03 Maxima for my next car. 255 hp should make me happier.

Au contraire, Scott.. we have the same problem, the only difference is yours are Mexican, ours are Brazilian...

Generally when someone does something stupid I just smile at them and wave, **** happens and generally they know they stuffed up so why ruin your day and theirs.

One day I was merging into another lane on the freeway in light trafic, it was clear with plenty of room for me to get in, I indicated for a good 3 seconds which was just enough time for the person behind me in the other lane to close the gap and get in my blind spot.

So I'm half way through merging when I see him and jump back into my lane. He turns out to be a middle aged man who proceeds to beeps his horn and make lots of rude jestures for the next mile, obviously extreemly pissed off. In response I smile and wave like big bird then proceed to merge behind him without any nutters cutting me off.

Two miles up the freeway he is just ahead of me and takes the same turnoff I do, we stop at the lights with me behind him when I notice him looking in his rear vision mirror so once again I smile and wave. He then proceeds ahead of me to take the exact same route I am taking, right turn, turn right, left turn, his driving is becomming more erratic and paniced as he thinks I'm stalking him. In the end he takes a corner at an intersection at the last second in order to 'shake me' screeching tires all the way.

I laughed the rest of the way to work . Instant Karma is a *****.

Ive only driven one American car that was made in America, that was my Buick roadmaster(man i miss that car) it was built in Arlington Tx :2thumbs: , my 90 buick century was built in Mexico, my moms 2001 buick regal was built in Cannada......what can you say huh?

That Domestic/Foreign arguement is so rediculous these days. Go to any toyota or honda dealer and look at the window stickers. My wifes 06 Accord listed out that the only part made in Japan was the transmission. Everything else, inlcude the car assembly was done in the US. Look how many people Toyota employs in the US, its insane. The "Big 3" are laying people off and Toyota and Honda are opening huge plants in the United States. So as far as I am concerned that agurment has no weight anymore!

Glad to hear your ok though, that can very scary! Life is too short to be getting that hot headed over the type of car someone is driving.

I agree! And the thing that really gets me is that these morons get mad because you did not "support" the Big Three but yet my dad works for USS (U.S. Steel) and Honda gets most of their steel from USS! Where as The Big Three gets theirs from China. So, I might not of been supporting a Big Three employee but I was supporting the steel industry here in the United States. People are just dumb sometimes.
