Craigslist Ad's ?

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I run a CL ad every week and so far have picked up a few jobs. Not a lot but its free and takes little to no effort to keep posting once a week.

What I enjoy is reading the other ads being posted by local detailers. My grammar and spelling skills may not be the best, but I take the time to read all of what I posted and triple check for errors, that's not the case with everyone that posts.

The better part is how they talk about their services and explanation of products. Some of it seems like smoke and mirrors to me.

I guess to someone that had no idea about detailing this would seem believable.

This was one that caught my eye he is in my town:rofl:rofl

Car detail good price

LOL....I've found some very...interesting...ads on craigslist...but I really don't know of any other classifieds that are free and so well known, so I always use craigslist.

People generally do not put a lot of time into a free craigslist listing. It is my belief that those people that take the time to make it look nice, spell things like an educated adult and make it intelligible are rewarded.

Just look at the car for sale ads. The pictures are often of dirty cars from poor angles. It just amazes me sometimes how lazy people can be.

In agree with you on both counts, sometimes I want to call the people selling the dirt car and ask if they need it cleaned:rofl:rofl

I use V FLyer to create a flyer and then post that to CL. I am in a new area since end of July so we shall see how it turns out. It is funny reading posts by the competition.

Yep, I check Cl too. Check this one out!!

Not as popular as Craigslist, but it only takes a minute to post an ad.

I'll try to keep the links to other sites to a minimum in future posts.

Good Luck

Sorry Moderators, just using live links to make easier. ( wont use anymore )

The sites I gave but were erased are

backpage.com and

classifiedads.com

Good Luck

Have had good response to CL, but Backpage just seems to be where all the hookers went to. There's not much there otherwise.

For cool ads, check out use.com. They have a boatload of templates.

So you're saying we should try Backpage? At least that's what I'll be taking away from this post....:D

I've been thinking of posting an ad on CL to see if I can get some side work. I got a lot of vet bills to pay and anything I get is nice

Bookmarked :D
Honestly around here the guys on Craigslist are a joke and I make a huge effort not to associate my work with theirs in any way. I can't compete with them price wise because they advertise details for $25. The customer base I try to seek out wouldn't be looking on Craigslist for a detailer anyway. I've had AMAZING luck with Facebook. Its also free unless you do the paid ads, and with a little spamming of your friends and places like the Facebook Market to drive people to your business page, you can say anything you have to say about yourself, show all the before/after pics you want, and communicate in damn near real time with potential clients and regulars...all in one place and it don't cost a dime. Trust me one this...with a little effort invested on your part, there is big money on Facebook.

I can agee here. CL has gotten a bad rap about rip offs. Two people are confirmed dead one extra survived and they dont know the result of the over hundred that responded to it here in Ohio for work.

Where and how you market your services dictates the clients you will get. One on one and solid consistent work wins.
