Couple questions(Black hole with PC)

I have issues
Hey guys had some issues yesterday.
I did a basic wash and applied BH with my PC and then some Red on top. This was the first time applying the BH with the PC. It seemed as if the BH was not coming off easily after letting it haze up and I needed to use the QD to remove it.

Then when I was removing the RED there was some smearing going on.

So my question is what is the best way to go about using the PC with blackhole?

Set your PC to med low you don't want to spin it to fast, use a finishing pad...and work it in real good, sounds like you had to much product on the car.

Cool I was using it at 5 or 6 with a finishing pad, that must have been it.

Should I apply it similar to the way of polishing? I thought I could move it around a little quicker .

Today was also my first time using it by PC. I had a bottle of Black Hole sitting in the garage for awhile but never seemed to need it. I was doing a correction on a black Lexus (hate that paint) and needed it to fill in some stray swirls. I applied it at speed 4 and it seemed to work in pretty quickly, I didn't use very much product but it actually came out ok.

So yesterday I had some more smearing after removing the Natty's. I starting to think it was from when I washed my MF towels, maybe something is on there.

I have never had issues with it before.

sounds more like the Red had not set up long enough, it was hot and humid yesterday which will lead to a longer flash time ;)

Why is this happening??? The car was fine on Friday and Saturday, I drove it 60 miles yesterday and I noticed this this morning. It will wipe right off but I don't know WTF is going on.

This engine bay gets extremely hot.

Don't waste your time with a glaze just correct the problem and then know what ya got. Glaze is not a great base to start stacking things on top of. Its again not great on a car that gets washed and dried often. Its for show cars, and works as a cheater product on most everything else.:passout:

those are some strange looking marks ... definitely not a Black Hole by machine issue as those look like hand wiping marks and are going in too many different directions. I would wash it and then try a coat of Natty's Blue or Polish w/ Sealant and see what you have :hmmm:

Is the problem only over the engine bay? or is it on the roof and rear deck lid as well? Anything on the side panels? Looks like somepin got mixed in with the wax.

:inspector:

It seems like it's mostly on the hood.

Maybe I have too much xxxx on there haha. Those wipe marks are from applying the Nattys Red, I guess it's just hazing over for some reason.

Steve could the product be failing? I do leave it in my trunk so it gets pretty hot.

I just used some QD+ and it came right off.

anything is possible in the heat we have been having , but it would have been all over ... that is a strange pattern to apply wax :hmmm: and only in certain areas ... looks like an interaction of something though :inspector:

I guess I'll try and wash with some APC and soap, then some red and see what happens.

Very interesting....I had a similar problem on my red truck a couple weeks ago. I had washed it and then just quickly polished the hood with some SSR1. Looked like glass so I set out to apply the Natty's red. Applied it, let it set for a bit and wiped it off. Looked beautiful so I was happy. As it turned out, I applied a coat of wax to the entire truck as it needed it.

I drove the truck to work the next morning and it looked shiny when I left. Pulled it in the garage that evening after work, got out and said "What the ****?!?!?" I couldn't believe my eyes, but my whole hood was hazed over. It looked like I had just smeared stuff all over it. And to be honest, I was more concerned that people at work might have seen it and thought how horrible my truck looked  and wondered what the heck I had done because I'm always getting comments on how great my cars look at work.

I quickly grabbed a MF towel and with some effort was able to remove it, but some spots really took some rubbing to get it all off. However the rest of the truck seemed to be fine. This 350 really cranks out the heat, so maybe the combo of the truck sitting in the sun all day, plus the added heat from the motor on the drive home just caused issues...I don't know.

So...I'm not sure what the deal is, but the Natty's red seems to be the common denominator here.

I think I may stick to the Natty's blue going forward. Seems the red is always hard to get off and I always find spots a few washes later that I missed.
:hmmm:

Oh...and on a side note...the second time I used the Black Hole on my black SUV, I had a haziness issue, but I found that I didn't have it wiped off well enough before applying my EX and Natty's over it.
