Coupe vs Makita 9227C vs the beater (few pics)

yea i think side moldings are just a very very thin layer of paint, theres barely any primer on em they just use plastic paint if that makes sense...I plan on tapping up any car i do that has side moldings PERIOD.
 
Yeah, I oughta clarify...while some might think it's a waste of time, I tape the plastic parts off while I do the adjacent metal panels, then untape them to work on 'em. And I'll sometimes feather the trigger of the Makita when I'm doing them and I keep the pad's direction moving "off" the edges as best I can.



But if somebody wants to stick with a PC/Cylo for the plastic I sure won't criticize them for it.
 
Forgot to mention.

I used my optimum compound and polish on the truck.

WOW OP works forever and a day. It never really starts to dissapear. Makes it really hard to know when its been fully worked. I got to the point where i could do 3'x3" sections no problem.
 
coupe use even less then ur using now lol i had that problem to and used less and it worked well, i cause a lot of holograms before
 
Im definately not causing holograms. I was at first but my technique was to blame more than the amount of polish i was using. Even if i use less polish it still works and works and works. It does break down quickly i think its just hard to tell when that is becuase of how oily it is.
 
yea you can spend 10mins on a 2x2 area, i also ended up working in 3x3 areas and havent had a problem yet so its good, i do love poli-seal though and just got my optimum protectant plus gallon in the mail along with 2 more white pads, 2 green and 1 gray..the greens will be tested on sat against a very thin painted 96 explorer.
