Are any of you here anxiously waiting for that special weekend to do your full spring detail? :work: I sure am! I'm planning on doing mine April 6th, 7th, and 8th :buffing: Usually takes me a whole weekend to do everything!

I'm just hoping that the snow goes away in time and that it warms up first :grrr

Happy detailing season! :usa

Cannot wait!!!!!!:buffing:

Me too!! I've got so many ideas to try out. I need to decide on what polishes & waxes I'm going to use too. Hopefully I'll be able to get a PC before the big spring overhaul.

I'm very excited to getting back into business for the season and I'm down to three days until mid-upper 40's and that's good enough for me! :)

Had to place quite a few orders to resupply myself thouigh... $$ :(

Agreed. I did some detailing last night in a buddy's warehouse because I've been itching to do so....

Hey Garrett, you have a Lexus and located in Geneva? Where abouts??? I am in Oak Brook and Chicago....

I fixed my transmission leak(thought it might be a front seal, but upon inspection, it's a pan gasket!) and my car will be ready for spring. I want to test out my Duragloss stuff out on it. That car will be my first Click and Brag.

My daily car and my dad's car get the same treatment. My mom's car needs a repaint, so a complete interior and engine bay job, but just a clay and wax outside.

Hello, my name is wade and I have OCD (obsessive Detailing Disorder) I cannot wait uptil it warms up! I will finally get to use my PC! April will come soon, well I hope.

Wade:waxing: :dance :buffing:

Can't wait till the SAT's are over for me... Then I'll be able to start polishing out the cars and doing a radiator change on our Acura! Honestly, I can't stop thinking about the polishes/waxes and the processes I want to use for the cars :)

Oh I do indeed have Obessive Detailing Disorder! :chuckle:

I also just finished ordering my Zaino stuff, had to re-stock the Zaino container :woot: But spent nearly a $100 on it :soscared: Worth every penny though.

I'm thinking April as well. I just got into the Autopian way of detailing this fall, and my car was the only one to get the full treatment so far. I just got one of the 5.25" CCS pads from Danase, so I'm going to do a comparison with the regular 6.5" LC pad. Then when I'm finished I'll be putting Nattys Blue on my car for the first time, so I can't wait to see how it looks (black). Then sometime after that it's my wife's turn on her SUV which hasn't been polished before. Then in there somewhere will be my '68 Cutlass which also has never had anything other than a waxing. Then for some more experience I'm planning to do a full detail for my dad on his '70 Corvette sometime this summer.

Of course this is all dependent on if my schedule will allow (married with a 2 yr old and 3 mo old).

Add me to the list! I'm planning my spring detail for whenever the first nice weekend comes around, this Chicago winter has been a nightmare and I'm so excited to actually DRIVE my car! It's been in hibernation since October.

I go to sleep thinking about my first full detail wekend; wake up thinking about it and think about it at work. I need to get a life !!!!!!! My wife is sitting here laughing at me. They just don't understand the OCD.

Is your dad on CorvetteForum? If he's interested, there is a group of members in West Michigan that meet up fairly regularly. We use the forum as our base of operations. Unlike the Grand Valley Corvette Association, we don't have dues or inane meetings. Just meet up, go on cruises and drive the cars. We need more C3's as well, as the only real C3 that shows up is a 68 327 Vert that is in a postapocalyptic state that breaks every cruise.

As far as other West Michigan stuff, check out the GVSU car show on April 14th: GVSU Car Show.

My car is so filthy right now. It's got salt all over it. The temps are supposed to pick up this weekend. So, I'll likely wash it but I probably won't do my spring detail for another month. I can't wait!! I just got a bottle of Menzerna PO85RD today in the mail to use and I am really excited to try it.

OK, thanks, I'll tell him about it.

I'm lucky that my garage is part of my work studio so it's always heated/cooled to 70. It also has a hot water heater, so if it's at least 33 degrees out, I can roll the truck out, wash any or all of it, and bring it back in for drying and everything else.

But this winter in Denver had snow/ice/slush on the streets for so long that I had to go a month without even a wash...

Otherwise it pretty much stays detailed all the time in at least 2 out of the 3 catagories- interior, exterior, and engine bay. So even in the worst of the snow I could console myself with keeping the inside spotless.

I've found a real good way for keeping the engine bay in great shape; I just talk to family on the phone. While talking, I walk back to the garage and gather a rag, some water or cleaner, and a couple of detailing brushes. At some point I put my finger over the phone's talking holes so they don't hear the noise of the hood release, then stick the phone 'tween my ear and shoulder and quietly wipe away in some small area. It doesn't take all of my attention to either follow the conversation or to detail the engine, so it's a good mix. 30 minutes later I'm caught up with family and did a couple of square feet of fine detailing as well.

 This past weekend has been a nice high 40's-low 50's. Thrusday was mid 40's. So I got the Cobra out of storage and Friday morning woke up with a sore throat, runny nose, ear pressure. So I have missed the nice weather except for walking out to get the paper this morning and getting the mail yesterday.

OCD!

I moved to a coastal town in Oregon from Minnesota cuz I hated waiting to wash during the Winters. The hot summers also factored in...but getting my "clean fix" and and some better scenery were the primary factors.

I make alot less income here, but my disorder is in check now!
