Counter Weight

I'm looking to buy a Porter Cable 7424 and the place i'm look at to buy it from it comes with a 6' backplate but NO counter weight. Will I need a counter weight?

the counter weight is already on the machine...usually the 7424 comes with a 5'" counterweight
