Could Use Some Help

Will probably buy a UDM tonight--great price of $99. Seems like a good option to dip my toes in the ROB world. I can always upgrade later and keep the UDM for LSP's. The silver metallic paint on the Audi is in excellent shape just from hand applications but am seeing some slight scratches and marring.

Wondering what polishes and pads are good choices for a first-timer. I'm intrigued with the Edge pads and adapter so I don't need to fiddle with different backing plates unless someone has compelling arguments against it.

Not sure about Menzerna yet as I keep reading that polish works better with rotaries or even a Flex. A light polish is really all I need at this point. Probably don't need a filler-type polish either.

Thanks as always in advance.

Audi paint is known for being extremely hard on these boards. I've polished an Audi A6 in silver, but I was using a rotary. If you're buying Edge pads, they're mostly all double sided. That's two pads in one. I'd get a cutting pad, and a polishing pad. If you really want to drop the change, you can pick up a finishing pad for applying your wax/sealant too. Most high caliber polishes will work a little better with a rotary, but I'm sure Menzerna will work as good as anything else will via ROB. I've never used menzerna, but every one of their products seems highly reguarded here on Autopia.
