Costco yellow MF Towels

in case it wasnt cleared up yet, each region gets their own different brands of microfibers. just like how each region carries different brands of bottled water.



also i know the costco mf's are currently on sale for dirt cheap(i picked some up myself for strictly wiping down leather and dashes,they are too rough for anything else), but i still think sams club microfibers are the best bet. my local sams club mf's are literally twice as soft as the costco's and maybe 15% plusher. those are worthy of door jams,wheels and what not. ive tried using them on medium to hard paints with no marring but ill stick to my premium pakshak mf's for that ;)
 
Because of this thread, i went out and bought 2 packs of the MF for $20. Washed them up and now have 4 piles of folded MF about 1.5' each :) They do seem very soft, almost as soft as my Cobra MF's that I have. I am going to use them on my production details and save my $10 each MF's for the multi step details. I was pretty impressed with the quality of them as I wasn't expecting that much after reading this thread.



Under $.30/towel is a bargain to me that i couldn't pass up.

Cool .. I been using them for a few years now and at $0.30 they can become utility towels after a few washes if need be.

The price is the whole reason I use them, when they hit the ground, get some sort of dirt stuck in them or don't look 100%, they go into the utility towel pile. I can't imagine throwing away $10 towels.

Costco's, not so much, but they don't scratch my paint, though I'd probably use something different on super soft clears.

The Costco ones I get in NoVA are not the Eurow brand.
 
Even Eurow has a couple different brands they stock Costco with. The ones they had a a few years ago were much higher quality then what they stock now (at least at my local Costco). One of my first impressions of MF's is to outstretch it and hold it up to the light. If lite comes through and it appears thin, I wont purchase it. The current ones in stock are just that.

Agreed, and the current Eurow Costco towels are not something I would put on my paint. Great idea about putting the towels up to the light.
 
those yellow one pictured above are the ones i've tried from costco before and they were terrible. not only did they lint, the edging came undone on quite a few. we'll see how the eurow's work out for me, if they are just as bad.. i'll just pick up the proforce ones from sams club as i haven't experienced any negative results thus far with them...

Its crazy how the consistency of the costco towels is all over the place. I do think the ProForce are much better, and if I recall, roughly the same price. Its one of the few cases Sam's beats Costco, well that, and they have a much larger selection of "Open" signs...lol.

i guess it's a case of YMMV. the reason i bought the eurows is i had a $6 off coupon and you get 12 more towels per package as well (proforce 24 and eurow 36) and not to mention i haven't had any problems with eurow products in general. if they do not work well for me, they'll be used once and then tossed and never bought again...
 
I bought a 36 pack of yellow Eurow MF towels from Amazon for $25 (free s/h). I think they may be the same as what is sold at Costco. At first, they seemed very good. But after being washed 2 - 3 times, they have begun to deteriorate and lint somewhat. I had hoped for better quality since I have quite a few of the Eurow shag towels which are very nice and have held up well. MF towels seem to be very inconsistent in their quality. You read a good review of a towel and then read a nagative review of the same towel. I hope to try the ProForce brand in the near future.

Well the ones at Costco is $16 for 36 towels
 
Toymachine2009: Understood. The price at Costco is less. My point was that IF the towels sold at Amazon are the same as the ones at Costco they are not particularly good - regardless of price.

I used these towels for the past week on two details that I did. I used them for polish removal, lsp removal, interior wipedown, and I even used them on the Windows. Not a single scratch was introduced by these towels. Since they are so cheap and I have so many, I used about 15 towels on each car to make sure they stayed clean.

Man its a love hate thing with the yellow devils....These are the ones i got from Costco too.

At first I liked them then I didnt but I have to admit they work well on wheels, at the price of 15.99 plus tax for 36 towels, I use one on the wheels its get dirty and I throw it away. My wheels are painted a silver metalic with clear on top I imagine, many say to treat painted wheels like you would treat the paint on the car, but the yellow devils do a great job on the wheels and I cant justify spending more on towels I ruin by cleaning the wheels. I will not lie though when I read all the posts of those who say they scratch I worry..but they have done so well with wheel duty that I am ready to premote them back to window and interior duty just not the nav screen or plastic lens gauge cover.



I dont think they will ever touch my cars paint either, just for piece of mind..
 
After discovering they were crap on my cars, I found they work just fine on my hard wood floors, baseboards, dry wall, ceiling fans, fridges, etc. Great for the house, garbage for the auto...Anyone else agree?
