Corvette Clearcoat

No, I'm not dead on sure, but they were mentioned in several articles I read on CeramicClear. I suppose you could check with GM, but it sounds like that's what Spin117 is dealing with.

CeramiClear is a PPG product and Bowling Green uses Dupont. PPG is the company that has CeramiClear(Benz/Ferrari) / Powdered Clear(BMW 5,6,7) / Self Healing (Nissan).

It's the fiberglass that is hard to work with, not the clear with the vettes.

I think it's the other way around (I hope :nervous2:) Seeing that clear is applied over 2 different coatings over the substrate, it really won't matter. That is unless you're relying on heat transfer during the buffing process. :nervous2:

Well I went at it today, M105 is a god send for this hammered vette paint. (Wasnt me, got it with 10k miles and they mustve been washing it at the local drive thru...***) I hit up some spots starting with the yellow pad and M105, achieved about 90% correction after 3-4 passes. I found a little bit better using the PFW pad tho, 3 passes = about 95% and the M105 never dried up. Worked the car for like 8 hours today just to apply the M105. I will be following this up with M83 via 6.5" orange and M80 on 5.5" white. Maybe Ill see how the M80 finishes on a 6.5" orange? for only one more step. I was too cheap to get the M205. shame on me.

Once polishing is done Im thinking either KSG or P21S carnuba. Im leaning towards the P21S as I never liked the squeaky feel of KSG nor the brightness. Id be willing to sacrifice the resilance of the sealant.
