One of those days, and not in the mood to play in Grumpy's Garage.

So, guess I will fire up one of the old vehicles and go visit some local libation establishments.

Always interesting to hear the town drunks rant about how they can't get a job, when most of the plants and such are crying for workers, etc.

Of course, they are too good to work for a good wage, they want the over the top wages they were making before they got fired years ago for showing up drunk and cussing out the supervisor, etc.

Ain't live interesting???

Pretty typical attitude here in the good ole Motor City too. The only thing is the UAW protects those who make bad decisions. The days of making $75K out of high shool are done and gone.

What I'd like to know is if they're in such dire straights, how are they able to afford going out and drinking at a bar? Something here isn't adding up.

I think my area fared pretty well with the economy of the past several years. Folks here mostly cry about the crime, traffic, local government, and the Amish! While we do have issues, they're nowhere near as bad as cities around us.

Charlie, drunks will do whatever to be able to get a drink, some will even resort to isopropyl alc, rubbing alc, windshield fluid, and pretty much anything that has some amount of alcohol to get drunk on. It can get quite ugly, I stay away from it, keeps me outta trouble!

Oh I hear you, it's just that of all the ways one can consume alcohol, doing it at a bar is probably the most expensive option. That's the part that makes no sense if these people are down on their luck and have no steady income.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised though, these people would rather drown in their sorrows at the bar than put their money toward keeping their homes and other possessions out of foreclosure.
